Perfectly good soup and sandwich for my husband and I had the same soup and chips. The soup was a tasty and fresh but the chips stole the show, yummy. If you want a decent priced, simple homemade lunch, this is the place

I try and call in at least once a week for a breakfast treat. The food is prepared there on the spot not left hanging around for ages unlike the Wetherspoon's establishment facing.I usually opt for the full English which comprises of egg, bacon,, 2 sausage, tomatoes and toast and a pot of tea with hot water for £6.80 and excellence... A very busy day in Kendal in the lead up to Christmas, blowing a gale and pouring down. Pumpkins was busy but we were served promptly and in a friendly manner. We chose the home made vegetable soup which was as I like it with the veg there for me to see and not all liquidised down so I don't... More

Myself and other half often sneak into Wetherspoons on curry night if we can't be bothered to cook, but spotted the evening menu in Pumpkins across the road....Lamb Mousaka, 6.95.... Nearly as cheap as a Wetherspoons curry! so we were sidetracked there instead, not knowing what to expect as having never been there previously. have to say we were really... More

On a busy days Christmas shopping we were starting to flag so nipped in for a snack and coffee. It wasn't the first time we had been there and won't be the last. The staff are wonderful , friendly and smile naturally. The food is excellent and there is an above average selection for Vegetarians. It is also very clean... More

Great atmosphere, clean and service with a smile. The soup was homemade, hot and very delicious. Although the place was busy the waitress took time to chat with us.

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Kendal and found this little gem by accident. Admittedly it was quiet when we went in but we were served by a very happy and enthusiastic waitress who took our order without any fuss or hassle and a short time later our meals were out. A cassoulet and a... More

Been working in kendal for 4 weeks and having to eat on my own is often difficult to find places who welcome you especially as a woman. Found this absolute gem. Had the slow cooked pork belly with potatoes and veg. Absolutely the best meal ive had in kendal ever. The restaurant is warm and very welcoming. Beers/wines very reasonably... More
