Fantastic real ale, superb meals from locally sourced food expertly prepared and cooked. Great cosy atmosphere with log fires and vintage cutlery and decor. All the staff, especially Nicola and Graham, are really helpful and friendly. Recommend.

We've had lunch here a couple of times and it's not surprising that it's always busy, even midweek. The food is excellent, especially for the price. The bacon and chicken club sandwich at about £6 was mammoth, and came with salad, both delicious. Today we had the two-course lunch option for £10.95 and were not disappointed. Starter of Lancashire Rarebit,... More

We called in the The Strickland having travelled over from Sunderland on a Friday night. We were welcomed warmly and even though the pub was busy down stairs they put us in their upstairs dinning room. The staff were really friendly and very efficient, the drinks order was taken and delivered timely and our order was taken. A short wait... More

Located near to Sizergh Castle this 'pub' offers fantastic food and a friendly atmosphere! We were welcomed by staff and shown to our seat which was next to a lovely roaring fire. The atmosphere was very friendly and there appeared to be a nice mixture of tourists and travellers. The menu itself offered a decent variety of choices and was... More

We had dinner at the Strickland Arms last night. This was our second visit. The food was equally as good this time as it was at our last visit. Exceptionally well cooked tasty food. Gluten free food is available throughout the menu and served with great gluten free bread. Their homemade soups are delicious. The meat has been very tender.... More

We met with friends in the new year and enjoyed another good meal here. They cater for different appetites with both normal or small portions. Our only criticism is the awful mismatch of chairs! Many lack cushions and are very uncomfortable. Each time we visit I hope for a change!

Have quickly visited before on the way to the nearby historic Sizergh Castle, so now decided to try the food. The menu was excellent - plenty of choice, local ingredients, and not just the usual 'pub classics' Especially good was the 'Lancashire Rarebit' made with Lancashire cheese and real ale; the lamb was good too. The surroundings were nice too,... More

Great food and attentive service. I had the black pudding starter with a perfectly poached egg and an arty smear of HP sauce which actually enhanced the dish and made me smile, followed that with the most perfect fish and chips crisp batter lovely piece of fish and crispy outside chips soft middles and the only downside of the tartare... Great service (with smiles) as always from Graham and staff. Just love the cosy atmosphere, good range of ales (Dent brewery kamikaze was our choice, yum!) and food always excellent and fresh. It's always busy so booking a couple of days in advance is recommended.
