Great pub/brewery with wonderful beer. O really enjoyed my curry. Spicy enough to keep my attention without being overpowering. Service staff were friendly and fun.

This is probably my favourite pub in the Lake District as it is almost like walking into a beer festival, up to 16 different beers mainly locally sourced including those brewed on the premises, friendly and knowledgeable staff and well presented good value locally sourced food served all day, we called in on Sunday teatime and struggled to get a... Dog-friendly roadside pub, with accommodation. Wide range of ales brewed on the premises, with guests from other Cumbrian breweries. Good food available throughout the day. No TV for those who prefer their drinks and food without whatever the day's sporting event is balring in the background. Pleasant outside seating area to rear of pub.

Found this place on the Internet so made it easier to locate! Looks great outside & authentic inside. x2 bars The Smithy (no dogs) & The River bar (very dog friendly), also seating outside at front and rear. Own brewed real ales, great starters, mains and puds. Recommend the King prawn curry, Beef & Ale pie & Eton Mess. The... More

Fantastic pub which we frequented often as staying in cottage nearby. Wanted somewhere that was dog friendly and this is more like a dog sanctuary with regular treats handed out by the bar staff while we enjoyed the ale brewed on the premises (all with doggie themes with the favourite being Collie Wobbles) and very good food. Best place we've... More

A lovely old country pub with its own micro brewery producing 12 real ales was a real find. All real ales were described and categorised into creamy, hoppy, malty etc to allow you to make an informed decision. It would be great if this were round the corner from our home! It was quite a busy place with diners in... More

The Watermill has become a regular stop off on the way home to Liverpool after a few days walking in the Lake District. We stopped off there again last week. The ale, brewed on the premises, was excellent, especially the Colliewobbles bitter. The range of food on offer was also excellent. The perfect way to end what had been a... More

Found The Watermill on Tripadvisor and it didn't disappoint, the food, service, and drinks were all second to none. Although not particularly cheap, the quality is brilliant, worth the trip. P.S not easy to find, or well sign posted but still worth it.

my last visit to this well known Inn was at Christmas 2013 with a group of like minded people ,the age range was probably from 40years to 70years .i will make this short because i was very disappointed, as only the 4th person to arrive and order soft drinks for 2 people (drivers) , the person behind the bar managed...
