Check before you go

We have visited before on a hot sunny day and sat outside - as we were in the area we were going to try in the winter months , but it was closed due to the recent flooding in the area. So ne advised , check before you go, to be on the safe side.

Dropped into this pub by chance for an early evening meal. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I ended up having the curry from the specials board. It was the nicest I had tasted in a long time. A definite recommendation from me.

Lovely little gem of a pub in between Windermere and Kendal! Glad we stopped by whilst stopping up here to try the food! Beef & ale pie and the sausages & mash went down a treat! Lovely starters too! Beautiful food and very friendly staff!

We've been there few times with friends. Great local beer from own brewery and excellent food. Friendly staff with great atmosphere. Definitely come back again. Highly recommended for amateurs of beer.

We stopped for a family lunch on the way to Windermere. There were nine of us and we were easily accommodated in the inside seating area. The Inn sells its own beer which was ordered and enjoyed by a number of our group. Staff were friendly. We all ordered food. I enjoyed the ploughman's including the pork pies and cheese.... More

Near Windermere and Kendall on the A591 , we stopped her for lunch. Loads of dogs and a small brewery, with dog themed names for their beer -'Ruff Justice, A bitter ruff' etc. Thew food was excellent. We had a fish platter, and a sausage ciabatta, just what we needed.

Took short drive ro Ings for an evening meal to the watermill. It was very busy but we found a table. The beers selection was excellent, well kept and well served. The food was ok nothing spectacular but served promptly and would be best described as good pub grub.

Called in for lunch as we knew how dog friendly it was. Before my husband could get served a dog bowl and biscuits had appeared for our dog! Just had a lovely ham and red onion marmalade sandwich and some nachos for lunch with a lovely pint of one of their doggy named beers! Very good friendly service. Will be... More
