We were returning home from the Westmorland show & decided to go here for supper. An excellent pub with great food and drink. We definitely recommend it.

Top little microbrewery Pub with loads of charm on the northern exit from Windermere. Probably the best best steak and ale pies I ate in 7 days. Great service, bar staff love at chat and the food is very hearty.

Staying just outside Windemere, we fancied eating out for our last night so I searched on my Dog Friendly app for local eateries we could take the pooch. I am soooo pleased we found this place just off the A591 around miles away. Absolutely packed when we first arrived but we got a table within 10 minutes. This place clearly... More

I've read some of the other reviews but the day we visited the food was excellent - beautifully cooked, extremely tasty & speedy service. The staff were very friendly & it is über dog-friendly: biscuits handed out plus water & made to feel welcome! They have a brilliant idea of presenting 3 x 1/3 pint glasses on a wooden tray... More

Food portions are getting smaller.....it is still lovely food but what you get is definitely smaller and the side salad is just leaves. The hot beef sandwich has gone too, and the ciabattas are small and square now. just a little disappointing.

Very impressed with the service, meal and friendliness in this pub. The fact that it took three return visits to get a table indicated how popular it was. It was extremely dog friendly, our dog had her own bowl of water and selection of biscuits given to her. Would highly recommend.

Called in for lunch today. Really looked forward to it, haven't been up for a few months. Prompt service as usual, but the sandwiches were not the usual! Plain brown sliced bread, a little bit crusty! chips were served cold. ( sent them back). To many dogs in the dining area for me, but we knew that before we went,... More

Ate here with 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 9) and wouldn't consider returning based on the food. Adults ordered Beef and Ale pie and Rack of ribs. The pie was delivered as a small portion and when questioned that we didn't ask for a small portion it was returned to the kitchen then came back out with a... More

This is a lovely pub in a great location. 2 bars, one of which allows dogs. Think they even had dog treats! The beer is great so I recommend this place for an after hike drink. Unfortunately we came for lunch and I found it an expensive disappointment. Had the burger which was over £10 for a cheap frozen burger.... More

Only found after looking around high st for somewhere to eat. Lovely staff, ale and cider choice vast. Food tasty and good value for money. Very accommodating for a 6yr old's fussy appetite. I had a super tasty cheese and potato pie with loads of salad and gorgeous bread, my hubby and mum in law had shepherds pie with plenty... More
