Very friendly pub in ings

I ate here tonight with my partner and was thoroughly impressed with the food, atmosphere, staff and ale selection. The pub is dog friendly and was very accommodating to our dog, and the food was superb. Would recommend

Lovely traditional pub with big open fire and welcoming staff. Brewery on site that produces some fantastic beers. Ordered food whilst we were there, which was okay but we have had far better for a similar price in the local area.

I was staying nearby with my partner and we ate here one evening after driving past earlier in the day on our way to Windermere. It was a very wet and windy night which we arrived, so was glad to get inside to a warm and cosy bar area. The menu had a very good selection - I had the... More

we went here last night. I had steak and ale pie with chips and veg and couldn't fault anything. The pie was incredibly tasty and the chips were very good indeed. My husband had the fish and chips and again he couldn't fault it. Service was very good without being over-bearing. Unfortunately we just didn't have room for pudding!

We looked online for a couple of dog friendly pubs in the area while going to Windermere and this came up as one of the closest to us so gave it a shot.... It is so nice to get a friendly welcome in any pub you haven't visited before and everyone here is certainly friendly and welcoming. Staff great, lovely... More

I spent a lot of time here as a kid and still come back now and again as an adult. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always really friendly and chatty. The food is on the whole average although the BBQ ribs I had last visit were amazing. It is often very busy so sometimes you have to... More

We came here for dinner as we were staying in Ings and this was our local. Everyone was friendly and the beer was good but the food was average, it wasn't microwaved chain pub food but the presentation and quality of veg/ side dishes let the mains down a bit. Whilst eating our meal water started coming through the ceiling... More

Called in here specifically to pick up a few bottles of one of their own brewed beers, but unfortunately they only had about half of their range in stock. We decided to stop for lunch since we had driven a while to get there. Bar staff seemed disinterested when taking order, but the waiting on staff were attentive. The food... More

If you can only visit one Lake District pub, this is the one. A " Camra" pub serving good well kept local beers, a lot of them brewed on the premises. There is a comprehensive food menu, all at reasonable prices. The pub is dog friendly, but if you are not that keen on them there is a second large... More

This is a place I used to recommend to friends, but I'm sad to say that it has gone downhill in respect of the food menu choice and quality. Also it's taken the 'dog friendly' impulse too far - the last time I was there, dogs to people were 2:4, some dogs not always happy with each other. They were... More
