Nice fish & chips...

Nicely presented on wooden block and wrapped in a newspaper, everything tasted pretty good. Nice crisp bater and chunky chips. Not sure why people here moaned about chip portion size, I had enough to share with my child. If I had to be picky, I would say I think the cream on the cakes were made... read more

The cakes were absolutely delicious and a really excellent selection of teas. If you are a fan of the black stuff it's well worth going in. Staff were lovely and had an enjoyable chat with them regarding tea recommendations!

We visited during half term for lunch with our 2 small children, the service was very warm and welcoming, we all had delicious sandwiches and then shared a piece of chocolate cake. The cake was incredible and such a huge portion! Tea is real loose leaf tea! Can't fault this cafe.

We popped in here during February half term, the food and service were great. The fish n chips were absolutely delicious. We were so full so we ended up taking some cakes home. This cafe is a little gem, we will definitely be back!

Just back from a ride to the Lakes and we found this little gem. Its only very small inside but this makes it a nice atmosphere and the staff are excellent. I had the fish and chips which actually came on a plate but wrapped in newspaper as well and it tasted delicious. My husband had the home made pie... More

We were enticed in by the amazing array of huge cakes in the window and were not disappointed. Home made soup with home made bread - delicious. Chicken & mango sandwich on home made bread - brilliant all washed down with a nice pot of tea. Couldn't manage a slice of cake but maybe next time! First class service and... More

We recently visited Hawkshead with family for the Christmas market and made the Sun tea rooms our number one choice purely by the display of amazing cakes in the window. Can something taste as good as it looks ? In this case a big YES. The food is just about the best you will find anywhere not only in the... More

We live about 25 miles away from Hawkshead but came today as the village had its Christmas fair. It was a nightmare to find a car parking space in the public car park and as the weather was particularly cold this was a lovely oasis to visit. We had a fab couple of coffees and my oh loved his cake... More

Quaint tea room, with the largest gateaux's that we have ever seen. Friendly staff and lovelly atomsphere. The Gateaux's are huge as are the portions, 1 slice did two of us. Was quite funny to watch passers by stop and do a double take at the Gateaux's in the window. Highly Recommend a visit.
