The CAKES drew us in!

Great little café, serving lovely food. Unpretentious, we had lunch here which was good value for money. Bit cramped but everyone is really friendly. Staff delightful. After all that we couldn't fit in a piece of cake! Excuse for returning, me thinks?

Me and my G/F are keen cyclists so we know a good cafe when we see one, very quaint inside. Had a Slow cooked beef sarnie with a side of chips stunning food :-) also noticed they sold drinks as in beer :-) so that must be an added bonus especially if you don't have to drive. Will Defo call... More

We just had to stop in here as the sight of the humongous cakes through the window were too hard to resist! We actually ended up having lunch here. My husband had the special of the day which was a seafood chowder - he thought it was good but not amazing. I ordered the Welsh rarebit which came with home... More

Massive cakes attracted our attention and made us visit. We didn't sit inside but bought a few slices of different cakes to take away (btw, hey turned out to be fairly pricey). Carrot cake was good, walnut cake was very moist and tasty (the best one among 4 we tried) however chocolate and cherry cake really disappointed me as turned... More

We were drawn to the tea room by the massive sized cakes in the window. Although a small tea room the staff were friendly and helpful. Food portions are really big. We had some cake and toasties. Wish we had found this at the beginning of our holiday and we would have gone back for more.

Went for lunch and we all enjoyed our choices thoroughly. In particular the home made Cumbrian beef pie was scrummy and they make great chips! However we then decided to treat ourselves to their home made cake which looked and tasted delicious but they were absolutely HUGE. Our tip is share, don't have one each. We brought ours home and... We really enjoyed our lunch here. Fish and chips served in newspaper, lovely home made chips and fish hot and crispy. One of our party is wheat intolerant and the owner was really helpful recommending alternatives. Fruit tea and earl grey lovely and plentiful. Definitely be back. Huge cakes.
