Came across Baldry's during a trip to Grasmere on our holidays to the lakes. We were immediately taken by Baldry's amazing array of home made cakes and lovely outdoor setting areas. The owner had amazing charisma and was full of enthusiasm for his amazing café! I chose the sticky ginger cake ( which was great in taste and size!) and... More

Visited Baldry's after a long day walking in the sun! Ordered lemonade and cola soda floats and raspberry and blueberry scones. The soda floats were refreshing, just what we needed after a long day, best scones I've ever eaten, packed with fruit and with a generous helping of jam, only criticism would be that the cream was squirty cream instead... We've been coming to Baldry's for many years on our trips to the Lake District. The cakes, tea and service are second to none. The choice is always extensive and service is always prompt and with a sense of humour. You will struggle find better in Grasmere.

We've been here before, about a year ago and had scones and tea, which were lovely. This time we had a full English and vegetarian breakfast. Both of which were lovely. My girlfriend was especially pleased that the vegetarian sausage, was in fact a vegetarian sausage, as opposed to a sausage containing vegetables. Being fussy, we both had wanted to... More

We do love breakfast at Baldrys. The welcome is second to none, the breakfast is the best around, the coffee just superb. Never had cheese scones anywhere else that come anywhere near as good. The cakes are amazing but it is the managers friendly banter and the venue's relaxed atmosphere are what brings us back time and time again.

We visited recently for morning coffee and cakes. I had the cheese scone which came with a small pot of extra cheese and a pot of chutney - absolutely lovely. My wife had a generous slice of lemon drizzle cake some of which had to be saved! Lunch had to be delayed too. We were pleased with the service and... More

Visited just for a cup of tea at the end of a walk. Not sure how I resisted the cakes which looked lovely but the tea was perfect - assam tea leaves in a decent sized pot and with a big pot of hot water. The tea was great and it's a lovely tea shop with a few nice tables... More

After waking up to a bit of a rainy morning in Grasmere we decided to postpone our walk and have a "Baldry's" breakfast. We had walked past Baldry's many times and it was either to early or to late and they haven't been open. We certainly weren't disappointed. The tea room is wonderful. Very clean, lovely décor and the staff... More

Fab lunch mid-way on a walk on the Coffin Route and to Easedale Tarn. Had parsley, leek and potato soup and a cumberland sausage and chutney roll - hit the spot! Brilliant coffee from Farrers to finish off. Thanks - consistently fantastic and great service.
