We loved this cafe we visited it three times whilst we were staying Grasmere. We had sticky toffee pudding (STP) mid-afternoon. It was excellent, particularly liked the ginger version. We decided, having tried STP throughout the week in various places in Grasmere, that Green's was our favourite. We had an evening meal and a breakfast at Green's. It was great... More

This is an excellent little cafe which caters for gluten and lacto free diets. I had a large plough and lunch (the gluten free option) I had a delicious sausage toll with two good chunks of cheese, delicious home made pickle with a lovely fresh salad and delicious ham. The kids had very nice fresh baguettes with cheese and ham.... More

Having climbed The Lion and the Lamb mountain we were ready for a treat when we got back to the village! My husband and I, along with our 6 and 8 year old children, thoroughly enjoyed it here. We decided to have desserts and the children enjoyed ice cream with sweeties on the top. My husband and I chose Sticky... More

I've been to Greens a few times as I'm a coeliac and dairy free; the accommodate this superbly. Previously I've visited for lunch and cakes either after a long walk or a visit to pretty Grasmere. I haven't been in yet this year as I've just had a baby. We took our 8 week old for a bistro meal and... More

We stopped here for lunch (family of 4) whilst on a circular walk around Rydal Water from Ambleside. It was a lovely day and this cafe was along about two-thirds of the way. Between us, we had shepherd's pie, jacket potato with chilli and toad-out-of-the-hole (x 2). Whilst this doesn't sound anything special per se, we all thoroughly enjoyed our... More

Called in for lunch- family of 4. Great deal of choice on the menu. Children's food was lovely and the sandwich came with a small selection of fruit too (strawberry, blueberries, apple etc) Little one was given colouring to do whilst she waited. Soup and toastie delicious. All the family enjoyed the food. Pleasant and clean place to eat too.... More

The food is excellent, the service even better. They went out of their way to accommodate the seven of us on a very busy afternoon. Our second visit but we will visit again.

Great veggie food but a little pricey. Excellent choice of foods available. Restricted opening times meant we couldn't visit in an evening - shame not open more often. Would happily return.

Enjoyed a very pleasant soup and sandwich here. They managed to find us a spot inside as it had just started to rain. Welcoming to my friend's toddler and sorted a high chair and colouring for her- no problem with her eating her own snack as Mum and I tucked into their delicious food. Worth a visit.

What a fantastic place. Great food and great service. Very friendly staff. The chef uses only the best ingredients and local produce. It was also good that they accepted dogs. I saw a previous comment on here who down graded this restaurant based on this. YOU'RE IN THE LAKE DISTRICT!!!
