Visited Tweedies for the Annual 'Guzzler' Beer festival. Wonderful time as always. Can't wait for next year. Can't comment on the meals as I didn't dine there.

Ate in the restaurant, food was fantastic, as was the service. Finished off with drinks in the bar and there was a live singer on. The guy that was singing last time we went was better but we wouldn't complain! They only serve until 9pm though, we went in at 8.55pm and were happily waited on :)

Dinner was fabulous. Service excellent and atmosphere very comfortable. The bar looked like fun and the people were friendly.

Been in many bars in many places but this ranks as the worst. It sets itself up as a full on real ale pub and the Cumbrian ales are good but the service is full on shocking. One to avoid.

A group of 9 of us turned up around half an hour before the kitchen closed for dinner. Despite a very busy bar we were served promptly and cheerfully. Great selection of beers. We all managed to find somewhere to sit and the food was served in reasonable time and all together. Without exception everyone commented on how much they... More

Ales were good, food limited for non meat-eaters. Allows dogs in the bars which is great. Good for pub food and reasonable price. Better in the evening than lunch.

Some good real ales on at this pub. Regular and Guest Beer. Good watering hole after a walk around the Lake.

Tweedies has separate restaurant and bar but they are linked and our meal was affected by this. The bar is lively and noisy and as a result the ambience in the restaurant is disrupted, especially when the live music starts. The food was above average and well presented with good service in cramped circumstances. Not ideal if you want to... More

I love real good-old-fashioned English beers that are good in this pub, but maybe the locals get a discount on their beer prices and we visitors have to pay the high-price??
