Awful - There is nothing wrong with the food just dont expect to recieve what you order. I ordered a steak pie and got a chicken one, only finding out when I started to eat. Asked for a cheese board with specifically no blue cheese only to be served exactly what I didnt want - blue cheese. Grasmere is a... More

A dog friendly a pub that was both charming and delightful. Excellent food accompanied by a welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Tweedies has the best selection of beers in Grasmere, and possibly in The Lakes as a whole. The atmosphere is excellent with walkers, dogs and children all welcome and catered for. The food is more good pub grub rather than restaurant standard, although at restaurant prices. We visited on a Tue evening in August that was particularly quiet because of... More

Tweedies bar was full and we had no booking so we were accommodated in the hotel restaurant (same menu) Three of us had the beef and blue stilton pie special. One had the chicken dish and I had hand made linguine with pesto vegetables and mozarella. We had a bottle of Shiraz. We were all pleased with our meal and... More

Tucked away behind a hotel but we found this pub a few years ago and visit every time we return, fantastic food. It has been done up over the years but it remains a firm favourite of ours and it never disappoints. Wide selection of real ales and whiskers if you fancy a tipple.

We called on a Wednesday night and the pub side of Tweedies was pretty busy. No tables in the restaurant for at least an hour, so we perched on the corner of someone else's table... Not the best but... I ordered the breads and just two appetisers at the bar, which did take a time to arrive. On saying that... More

We had lunch here during a pause in a long walk and really enjoyed it. The menu is varied and the food is very good although not the swiftest of service. The selection of beers is very wide with great real ales and bottled beers from all over the world. Dogs are welcome as are boots and wet clothes, after... More

Can't have a trip to the Lake District without visiting here for food or at least a drink. This time we decided to get the bus along from Ambleside and were not disappointed. Although the food menu has changed some the quality of the food has not. Staff were friendly as always, there is always a good collection of 'real... More

My partner and I with our pooch visited here whilst on holiday in the Lakes. It was a great place for a drink after a long day walking. The gardens are lovely and obviously pooch friendly. Great selection of ales and you can sample a bat of 3 ales, if you can't decide or want to try different ones. We... More
