Come for the beer. Not the food!

I so wanted to review this location as excellent but unfortunately it was a "game of two halves", 17 beer pulls adorn the bar of which 10 are cask Ale/Perry from around the UK. The variety and quality were as expected from a CAMRA supported venue. Add this to the flagged floors, rustic furniture... read more

Tweenies has a great selection of beers and that's where the praise ends for me. The food is lacking I'm afraid and is way overpriced for what you're served up. Five people in our group and not one of us enthused about our meals. A steak pie that was no more than bowl full of braised steak in a weak... More

We stopped off for a drink on the way back to our hotel as we'd heard that Tweedies offered live music on a Saturday night. There were two people behind the bar, one serving and another washing glasses. The one serving then decided to help with the glasses, ignoring any waiting customers. My husband had to shout over the bar... More

We called in here a couple of times whilst in Grasmere. It is good place for a bite to eat and a drink. On some nights they have live entertainment which rounded the day off in a nice way.

Good food, friendly atmosphere and staff, and good beer. What more could you want especially as the sun had been shining for 2 days.

Although we didn't eat, all the food brought past us to the other tables looked very enticing. We are definitely going to eat there on the next visit.

Good bar for watching a football match on TV- locals and visitors alike. Serving staff pleasant. Can sit or stand in very pleasant surroundings with a good atmosphere.

We went along to have a drink after walking around the village and building up a good thirst. As a pub it looks OK and it had a lively atmosphere, which is good for a pub/bar. We shared a table with another couple and got chatting which was nice and watched the Rugby. The beer is not the cheapest, you... More

A great bar to enjoy a drink after a walk, very much a pub atmosphere, however, not by any means the best place to eat. We twice chose to have an evening meal in the restaurant. The food would be best described as average and expensive compared to many other bars and restaurants in Grasmere, the service was also very... More
