The sign outside was welcoming and I fancied a pint. Inside, the place is lifeless. No atmosphere. Seating is very much geared towards the diner as there are no or little comfortable seating arrangements. The beer was average to say the least. Disappointing overall.

Popped in for a beer and a bite after trekking through hail and wind. Soon warmed me up; a very attractive little bar serving traditional pub fare. Dogs and muddy boots welcome.

Stayed in the village at the wordsworth but ate here a couple of nights. Nice home cooked pub grub. Average about £10 - £12 for a main course.

We waited over an hour for a very average meal. Beer was just as average with a strange musty aftertaste with both beers I tried. I doubt we will return in a hurry.

Visited this place on our first night out in Grasmere and liked the food on the first occasion so brought the friends - second time a complete disaster My lamb came burnt ( couldn't stick the fork in it ) and the chips on my partner's plate were raw A bit of a disappointment as there was no continuity in... Located in the centre of Grasmere This modest size restaurant, offers adequate choice with quality food which is well presented. The staff are friendly and attentive The cost is good value for money, with plenty of competition in this small Lakeland village
