quiet pub

very quiet for a Friday night,we did have a meal but it was pricey for a lamb shank, staff very polite , music did not do the place any favours it was more suited to a much younger persons scene and not to a Lakeland village .Drinks seemed to be reasonablypriced.

Extensive pub menu, food well presented, well cooked only comment, please don't skimp on the veg - that was the only downer to what was excellent place to eat with excellent value for money.

I visited The Lamb Inn on a Sunday afternoon wanting a cosy pub lunch. All other eateries in Grasmere seemed to be coffee and cake touristy establishments but The Lamb Inn was very busy with walkers and locals and their dogs. The staff were very friendly and the food arrived very quickly. The portions were great value for money and... More

We have been using the Lamb Inn for 20 years. On 8th may 2015 went in at 6.30pm for a celebration meal and a pint. We ordered 2 x Beer Battered Haddock and chips. The fish was very dry and tough, the batter was hard and the chips were unused ones from earlier warmed up, The waitress said all meals... More

The food here is very good - try the steak and ale pie and the sticky toffee pudding. There's a good atmosphere, making it a relaxing and friendly place in which to be.

It was like stepping back into the 80s! The environment is dated and a little tacky. The 'atmosphere' is definitely not that of a good old Lakeland pub, more a roadside cafe. The local beer was awful. Having said that, the menu, although unimaginative, was 'traditional' and you knew what to expect and prices were reasonable. We'd have liked a decent... More

Excellent service, we sat in the conservatory which was very pleasant. Disappointed as no pinot grigio wine and I do not like any other wine so had a coke..........never know an establishment of that size to run out of 'my' wine !! Food was average but well presented, price was on par with the other restaurants in the village and... More

From my many previous stays in Grasmere, I’d remembered the Lamb as the one real pub in the village: somewhere that was always busy with a good local trade as well as catering for visitors. Unfortunately, things seem to have changed: and this feels less like a village pub and more like a standard high-street “drink and dine” bar. A... More

Spur of the moment decision to eat out and just fancied something quick. All five meals were satisfactory. Traditional pub grub - nice but not spectacular and what's more, for the price I wouldn't expect it to be. It was rammed full and we heard no one complain. There are much nicer and more expensive places to eat in Grasmere... More

We popped in here a couple of times whilst in Grasmere for food & drinks. It is typical pub food but it is reasonable both in price and quality. It has a a good pub area with plenty of seating and has a relaxed feel about it.
