A lovely meal. Plenty of choice, and very nicely cooked. Busy but pleasant atmosphere, with staff who genuinely cared about our enjoyment.

Went for lunch. A bit early but invited in to keep warm until ready to open. Landlord and staff very friendly. Good beer and excellent food - game pie was top notch. A proper pubs serving food with a great atmosphere. Must be the best pub in Coniston.

We tried to book a table for the oh so late time of 8.30 on a Friday of all days and were told in no uncertain terms that it was unlikely they would still be serving food then. Apparently they employ clairvoyants as well as poor customer service trained staff. It is still the 21st century right?

Stayed in the cottage next door and enjoyed a lovely meal at the pub one evening and had a takeaway pizza the next night. Good old fashioned pub with a warm welcome for walkers and dogs !

We ordered Scampi, Chicken Tikka Masala and Roast Chicken in a cheese sauce. Considering it was a Saturday night- we didn't have to wait too long before... More
