What an amazing find by my husband! Everything was fantastic from the time we walked through the door until the time we left. The canapés with our drinks in the lounge before our meal were a real treat. Make sure you book as they were very busy. Thank you for a great food.

Came all the way from Hampshire to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Excellent service, interesting menu and as vegetarians we could actually choose everything on the menu for a change. A great place for a romantic meal for two or special occasion or just to have a nice meal out. Make sure you book.

Been coming here for about 25 years now and this was possibly the best meal yet. Excellent food well presented although one might be concerned about the small portion of potatoes (carbohydrates are important for diabetics which my wife is) although I am sure more would be brought out if asked. This is a family run business with husband in... More

This is a lovely, small restaurant for special occasions. You get very thoughtful, personal service. The food is cooked well and the menu is well designed and I have always found something really delicious to eat. The ambience is great with a separate lounge area for pre dinner drinks and coffee later.

We've had the Quince and Medlar recommended to us many times, but when visiting Cumbria have always stayed too far away to justify the trip to Cockermouth just for a meal. However, this time we were only 20 minutes away on the bus so decided to go for it. It's not the cheapest veggie restaurant you'll ever go to, but... More

One of the most original menus you could hope to encounter and I've yet to find a dish I don't like. Lovely setting, attentive service. A must do if you're in the area.

My wife and I visited the night before cycling the C2C after receiving a recommendation from a family member. Good quality, tasty food in a wonderful setting. On arrival we were served drinks and appetisers in a beautiful decorated sitting area before taking our dining seats by the fire in the main area. The food was full of flavour -... More

The menu was original and varied . We had three courses each and everything we had was delicious from the first course to the coffee served with homemade chocolates at the end..

In a quaint part of town, with a homely setting and friendly atmosphere, you don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy a fantastic meal here. I love this place, the food is very well prepared, beautifully presented and the owners are warm and professional. Well worth a visit especially in early autumn - I love wild mushroom!

fantastic food! full of flavour! veggie food I find is always so much better than food with meat in it as they really make an effort to make all the veg work together to make it unique and the flavours worked so well together! went for grandma's birthday with mum and aunty! lovely personal fell to the restaurant. very friendly...
