Was just looking for a quick bite to eat, went in here one Friday afternoon, the menu was decent, lady behind the bar was pleasant, our food arrived quickly after we ordered and the meal was nice.

I chose fish and chips with a hot drink, good value :) The fish was lovely, the batter was hot and crispy and the chips were fantastic.

I have visited this really nice bar a few times on my own whilst working in the area as it is well decorated, clean, and family friendly. I therefore returned on a future visit with my family for a pre - supper drink and some food which was excellent, very fairly priced and served by very polite staff -. Highly... More

We came here as a quick fix for lunch when in Cockermouth - there were 11 adults and two toddlers and the pub coped very well for us. We had a range of food, all quite good value - soup and a sandwich for £5. They over did the butter on the sandwich but it was nice. Our meals ranged... More

Visited on a quiet midweek evening, service was very good and the Cumberland sausage was very tasty.

Don't be put off by the two local characters propped up at the bar..they are harmless. The food, despite being £4.99 for tea and fish and chips, was really quite good, delivered by charming staff. On a rainy day this modern pub would do a Weatherspoons proud.

I would echo what's already been said about the lack of customers in this pub. We went on a Monday night (ok traditionally quiet) and we only saw about 4 or 5 others in the whole time we were there. The bar is a large sports bar design which I imagine could be noisy if the pub gets busy. Food... More
