This was recommended by someone in Cockermouth. It was delightful! I had an open sandwich with home made corned beef. Oh Lordy, a mouth orgasm. Fresh salad served with it and gorgeous bread. The staff were really friendly and entertained my two year old. They were happy to chat about their breads and cakes etc. we sat downstairs with our... More

Called on Saturday with my wife and had another fantastic coffee, this time I tried the smoked duck salad. As always the food is fantastic and very well accompanied with the very helpful and enthusiastic service. Well done to the owner and his wonderful staff. See you next week

I regularly go for a relaxing coffee and am never disappointed. The coffee is always well made and there is also always a good selection of home made cakes. We often also end up taking home a loaf of their shop baked bread.

Open early for fresh cooked breakfast or quick rework coffee. Equally open till 6 so late afternoon meetings are great here. I have not tasted as good Coffee anywhere, food is fresh and there's always good variety.

Having read the reviews in the Cumbria Life we decided to visit the Coffee Kitchen for brunch. Not the most inviting of entrances and not the friendliest greeting I've ever received, we carried on anyway as the reviews were great. Having been ignored for nearly 10 mins and watched someone else get served who arrived after us the writing seemed... More

Great food as well as coffee. Well worth a visit. They also sell their own homemade bread including sourdough. The coffees are all interesting blends.

Been meaning to try this place for a year now. Popped in for a quick coffee and cake and loved it. Excellent coffee and superb gooey fruit flapjack. Will be back soon.

We (4 adults, a 5 year old and a 2 year old) arrived here quite late for lunchtime, but we managed to find a table and were served very quickly. We had hot and cold sandwiches, the kids had milkshakes, and then the adults had hot chocolate and cake. All of the food was good quality and the staff were... More

The genius of the coffee kitchen is great coffee in an off the beaten track location, which feels like you've been allowed in on a local secret. It's only steps away from the main street, but it's worth seeking out. I especially like that the coffee kitchen is another one of Cockermouth's superb independently run businesses... they're all over town,... More

I've been using The Coffee Kitchen for nearly 2 years now and quite simply it's one of the best places in Cockermouth to eat, drink and buy innovative quality bread. A favourite of mine is the Cumbrian Rarebit it's simply sublime!
