I discovered this place in Cockermouth in between business meetings and oh what a discovery! This coffee shop is off the main road, and don't be put off by the entrance. Go up the stairs and you get yourself seat. The downstairs area is the home made bread department.Service was speedy and efficient - and more importantly, the coffee was great.... More

I highly recommend stopping by the coffee kitchen- whether for a quick coffee, a relaxed lunch or for a place to read a good book with fantastic food! My husband and I have been many times, and it is one of the main coffee shops we take friends and family who visit. They frequently update their menu of coffee and... More

Very friendly, very local coffee house. Good range of fair trade coffees from interesting places you may not have tried before. They also specialise in home made bread, including sour doughs.

This is a lovely place with great staff who know how to make you feel welcome. Experimenting with a new model on weekend events. I wish them well.

Great coffee and real Ecuadorian chocolate. My wife raved about the lemon drizzle cake. Comfy chairs and newspapers. Friendly, attractive service. Been two days running and probably go again tomorrow.

Walking round Cockermouth and spotted the coffee kitchen, small friendly and welcoming. We chose the home made soup which came with a selection of home made bread and proper butter in a dish, not those small wrapped up pats you get so often now. The soup and bread were lovely. As for the coffee a great selection of speciality coffees, lovely.... More

We came twice - once when we discovered the place in Cockermouth, and second time specially for another fantastic coffee. This coffee shop is off the main road, and don't be put off by the entrance. Go up the stairs and if you can, grab a comfy chair beyond the counter. We weren't able to grab a comfy chair on... More

Made a long overdue visit to the Coffee Kitchen in Cockermouth last month, taking a slight detour on the way to Carlisle. It was certainly worth it, the coffee and cake are top notch. Having read all the spiel on the website I was anticipating a good cup however this expectation was tempered slightly by the fact they were undertaking... More
