Fab cafe!

Currently sitting in coffee kitchen, lovely welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food. I don't actually drink coffee, but the range of teas on offer is great. I would definitely recommend!

this place is great. It is down a side street so not immediately noticeable. However the food is lovely. I had the rarebit with a side salad and chutney, my sister had a triple dipper of olives, balsamic, oil, hummus and lots of lovely fresh-baked bread. Both absolutely wonderful. The coffee was great too. There are tables to sit at... More

I have been a number of times now and am never disappointed. They open from 8am to 6pm which is really useful and if you go in at 545pm you don't feel like you are being rushed out like some other places! The coffee is really great as is the speciality hot chocolate. They bake fabulous bread on the premises... More

We always try to visit here when we are in Cockermouth. We haven't tried all the coffee houses and there are lots of new coffee shops opening up but the coffee served here is very good. The food is wholesome, tasty and reasonably priced. We had a rarebit - two generous slices and salad plus a wholemeal scone served with... More

Great hours at this cafe so you can start your day with their lovely choice of breakfasts, enjoy their amazing selection at lunch or chill out at the end of the day with a cake & choice of coffees or teas. Service is faultless & their homemade bread is gorgeous ...but get there early before it all sells out !... More

We nearly missed this gem down its side street. As a previous reviewer rightly says, not great for those who are disabled. But if you can get up the stairs its a cosy comfortable place - good for drinking coffee and reading the paper, and good for lunch. Highly recommended.

This is the place where people arrange to meet for discussions and make plans, or to read the papers or work on their laptops. The coffee is excellent and very reasonably priced, and the food looks good. But the outstanding thing is the friendliness of the staff. And because the staff are friendly, so are the customers. Don't be put... More

The stairs are to much if you are disabled, my disabled parents came to visit and could not get up the stairs, so had to go elsewhere. When we came on our own we were very disappointed. The coffee was very poor burnt and bitter and the cakes left a lot to be desired

This is in my opinion the best Café in town. Brilliant coffee, lovely food (try the Cumbrian Rarebit, never fails to titillate the taste buds), friendly staff, newspapers, fast wifi, very kid friendly and fresh bread to purchase on the way out. They never rush you to vacate a table, spent many a pleasant lunchtime in here, catching up on... More
