It's been a while since I've been to the Ship but the food is still as good as ever. The staff are always polite and attentive. I had one of their specials, double cheese burger "not for the faint hearted" and they were right! Huge!

Usually the ships the best place round here for a decent meal. Tonight celebrating my birthday we were shocked at the standards. Special steak 8oz was same size as my husbands 12oz. We complained and got both at the special price. But the chips were awful. Which I mentioned and took with me when I payed the 72.10 bill. The... More

Extremely disappointing. Having visited The Ship regularly, and highly recommended it to others, we were very annoyed to find the standards had somewhat dropped today. My partners lamb was tasteless and dry, and on asking the waitress if it was definitely lamb, as it did not taste like it, she said 'il check' and never returned. The vegetables and potatoes... This is a place to leave of your list of places to go. Poor service and terrible food make this one of the worst places I have eaten in. Ordered a Salad "Platter" with Beef, ham, turkey, chess or prawns. Only to be told that no you just pick one item. Therefore it,s a salad and not salad platter. When... More

Recently visited for my birthday with the family and what a letdown...usually The Ship is very good but this was disappointing, overcooked sausage which I ended up taking home for the dog and bits missing from meals, had to keep asking the waitress for stuff that was forgotten and it wasn't even busy when we went in....pull your socks up,... Had a meal with family. Food was patchy and "bits missing" along with over cooked sausage and lumpy rice. Lots of chips and a really big plate full but I've had a much better previously when I've been there.

My friends and I visited the pub on Friday. the food was absolutely gorgeous! I hope you're hungry ...........the portions are massive. The food was reasonably priced. The only criticism is the topsy turvy service. You go to the bar order your drink and then staff seat you. I think seating then serving is better customer service. I'd recommend the... More
