Really nice Afternoon Tea

Stopped over for a afternoon tea on the final day of our holiday. The afternoon tea is a buffet style, which is a little different but probably means you eat more of the things you like. For me the sandwiches weren't varied enough (3 out of 4 contained mayonnaise which I don't eat), but the sweets... read more

Very comfortable lounge for pre-lunch drinks whilst perusing the menu. I chose lambs kidneys in Madeira sauce as a starter, followed by Mallard duck. Both very tasty and good selection of vegetables also perfectly cooked. My wife chose smoked salmon followed by loin of pork with crackling, apple sauce, roast potatoes and vegetables. Much enjoyed. I finished with an excellent... More

Just stayed one night bed ,breakfast.and Dinner in the Farfield Suite to celebrate my Wife's Birthday Having made them aware of Birthday on booking I would have expected some small gesture such as a few flowers in the room or a tiny cake - nothing ! The Suite was comfortable without being luxurious Dinner was good with a good selection... More

We booked a table to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. At the time of booking I explained that my wife needed a gluten free menu which is generally not available at the majority of places. We were advised thar this would not be a problem and to our delight the Hotel did not disappoint on the night providing my wife... More

I came here with a group of friends and my one year old son for my birthday. The waiter serving us was fabulous, very attentive and informing. The restaurant is very clean and tidy. The cakes and food is of very good quality. I would definitely recommend!

Don’t waste your money on an afternoon tea at Rothay Manor. The hotel are living off the reputation that they have won an award of excellence from the Tea Council as one of the 50 best places for afternoon tea. The staff were not welcoming and they rushed us to seating that wasn’t suitable to eat afternoon tea unless you... More

This small hotel is lovely for a small break in the Lakes. We booked a Groupon deal and were blown away by the friendly service and good quality of our room, breakfast, dinner and the afternoon tea. Great location too for Ambleside and the Lakes.

I was given a voucher from some friends for my birthday, so whilst on holiday in the area we decided to try out this hotel. The surroundings were very relaxing & the staff were really very pleasant & helpful, however, the afternoon tea itself was a bit disappointing. The sandwiches were a bit on the dry side, bland & rather... More
