Good pub, good food, lovely views

I thought prices for beer and food were a bit on the high side. Having said that the food was very tasty, staff pleasant and helpful, lovely views over Windermere

The quality and preparation of fish and chips was one of the best we had near Windermere, and we traveled and ate a lot of fish and chips :) The ambience is great, the open area was windy yet it was sunny when we were there. The waiting staff was very patient with our little one and he was very... More

Visited here today with my partner after deciding we would like an impromptu lunch. Lovely setting right on the lake edge - food was sublime - we shared a starter of garlic mushrooms which were presented in the most delicious sauce and then we both followed this with lamb hotpot which again was delicious, flavour was beautiful. So glad we... More

Ideal position at the end of Windermere with plenty to look at. The garden area has been enlarged and ideal for eating with your dogs. Well run bar with prompt service and good bar food. We had Cumberland sausage with filled the gap after a walk and before driving south. We will certainly visit again

Always enjoyed eating here as the setting if beautiful if you manage to get a window seat. Staff extremely understanding about my dietary needs and altered my order so I was able to eat it. Disappointed the crème brulee is no longer on the menu.

Stayed in nearby Windermere for a week and came to this place twice, once for drinks in the garden and once for dining in at night. The views if sat in the garden has amazing views of the Lake and you would be daft to sit inside on a sunny day .... We dined on the last night and took... More

We really enjoyed our food at this pub/restaurant and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We we walked in there were two waitresses just stood there, we've never been before so weren't sure if we needed to wait to be seated or could sit anywhere, so I asked if we just chose a table and the really uninterested waitress just... Location right next to the lake. Good selection of beer and wine. Cosy fires when it's cold. Modern/living room style decor. Wine quite expensive though.

Certain members of the team were very rude and unhelpful. Food poor standard. We visit the Lakes and especially Ambleside on a regular basis and will not be returning to the Wateredge again.
