Absolutely stunning location with seriously impressive views. Staff were extremely helpful and did more than accommodated myself and two infant kids. There was four members of staff who served us and they all went out of their way for us. The plan was to stop in for a quick lunch but ended up spending the whole afternoon there with the... More

Whilst in Ambleside recently my wife & I had a meal here. Menu has a good choice and we had no problems in finding something we liked. It was a lovely sunny evening and we had a window seat looking over the gardens & the lake. Would recommend and would visit again if back in the area.

Friendly and Lovely lake side stop. Perfect when you've got aching feet and legs from walking all day. Family friendly, dog friendly (we were in the garden, don't know about inside policy) and the bar lady was walking around giving the dogs biscuits. Great touch. lovely view and lots happening in this part of the lake so lots to watch.... More

This establishment is in a perfect location but the service is quite a different experience. Lunchtime it's relatively empty and I approach 4 young bar persons stood behind the bar, they appear to laugh in my face, and treat me as an inconvenience and then a young lad proceeds to attempt to take my order, the others continue to laugh... Arrived with grumpy wheelchair partner plus father and dog and Carol was very kind and gracious in getting us settled in for a meal. Made all the difference, cheered us all up! Many Thanks!

The name of this Inn is truly accurate, with the beer garden leading down to the waters edge. The dinner menu included the more typical english food- fish 'n' chip, scampi and sausage and mash to name just a few. The deep fried whitebait is an appetiser must :) Lovely staff and nice atmosphere!

Went to Ambleside for a long weekend. After arriving found this pub/restaurant, decided to go back for a meal later in the evening. We had our dog with us, so decided to sit outside. There are two seating outside areas, one where food can be served and tables nearer to the lake where beverages only can be served, there is... More

We visited Ambleside yesterday for a drink and a bite to eat after the ferry trip. I had the sausage sandwich with onion and relish and it was superb. Food bit overpriced but when you have a view like that you don't mind paying the extra. Worth a visit if in Ambleside.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here, but did feel it was a bit pricey. Was very busy so had to wait in a pretty long queue, perhaps some more staff would have been an idea for a busy Friday night.

Called in for a bite to eat today with our disabled uncle. What brilliant service. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Food superb in an amazing location looking over the lake. A must for a drink or a meal.
