Pleasing visit

Caught this place out the corner of our eye as we drove past. Lovely outdoor area right on the lake. Food was good with a varied selection for a lunchtime.

We stayed at the nearby Lake House and came to the Wateredge Inn for dinner on our first night. There was fantastic live music and the pub had a great atmosphere. We were glad they were still serving food after 8pm and enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks. Would definitely come back on our next trip.

Today my daughter gets married, the new father in law arranged a boat trip with a stop here for lunch. It was a rainy day and the pub was busy but the bar service was fairly quick. We had managed to get two tables together and the orders were taken at the tables. Very good service and no complaints with... More

One pint of lager and two lime & lemonade: £11.35 I normally wouldn't baulk at paying for quality, and even though the setting is wonderful and on a sunny afternoon it's perfect spot, the price we were charged today was ridiculous. Other pubs in the Lakes we know of charge nowhere near this much for similar. Won't be going back.

As always the setting is fantastic. Always huge queues and not enough bar staff. Food was average and the brought starter and mains together! Then asked to leave both courses in the table after admitting it was their mistake! Never been asked this anywhere... Ever... Still can't believe it know!! Been here loads so hoping today was a one off!!!!

Pleasant surroundings and good service added with decent food make this a regular watering hole when we're in the Lake District. Fish and Chips delicious with a very good light batter. Burgers went down well. on the slight negative was a 'large' chicken salad ordered, there was no problem with the quality of the chicken or quantity but the amount... More

This pub, as the name would suggest(!) is located right on the edge of Lake Windermere. We stopped here for lunch after a recommendation from a friend. The service was really good - we were asked if we were happy with our meals, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I had a hot Cumberland sausage sandwich with fries and... More

We had a nice morning on the lake and we stopped at Ambleside for a spot of lunch. We hadn't booked but we knew the pub from previous visits. The pub was much nicer than I remembered and had been sympathetically restored with a roaring fire burning. The plenty of staff in the bar and service was very quick. We... More

We have stayed at the Wateredge in previous years. This time it was for an evening snack - nachos and excellent real ales. (If you stay for B&B look out for the two delightful Scottish waitresses who've been there for years and make you feel so welcome!)
