A pub garden right on the lake is the highlight

A large and busy pub restaurant with a garden right on Lake Windermere. We had snack lunch here twice & both times it was very enjoyable. Worth a visit on a sunny weekend afternoon.

We decided to go back here because we really enjoyed our stay in 2013. The hotel is beautifully located at Windermere Lake in the Lake District. The views are fantastic. The room was very nice and the staff very friendly. It was a very busy day and the bar and terras where very full. Ordering at the bar went very... More

We had been to the Wateredge several times over the years and therefore it was an easy decision when we looked for somewhere to have lunch. We sat in the busy bar area and of course one minus point was that we had to order at the bar and pay first. For our lunch snack my wife ate the soup... More

This is a great location, and well set up for both hotel guests and pub visitors with a small amount of parking available. The pub is split into two levels, the lower level being slightly smaller and dog friendly. The food is about the right standard for the type of venue ( As in quality of ingredients and choice), although... More

First impressions were good. Nice lake side setting, friendly staff, dog friendly inside and decent food. We had the burgers which were cooked perfectly and in particular the coleslaw was very creamy and flavoursome. All staff were extremely nice, one even brought some biscuits for our dog to nibble while we were waiting for our food. Only bad point was... More

We have been to this restaurant several times over the last few years, mostly for it's location. As the name goes, it is right next to the lake.It is a good place to have a pint, soak up the sun and the views. It helps that they have a play area for kids and ample parking space. The food they serve is also... Cannot fault this restaurant. The location is great. You can eat/drink outside (if weather allows). The day we ate there the weather was cloudy & windy so we ate inside. Dogs are allowed in part of the restaurant so this is great for all us dog owners. You do have to order at bar but this was no big deal.... More

Extra star as dog friendly. Beautiful views. Disappointed to find vegetarian choice which had run out, so had to have chips. However the bar supervisor came over with a veg chilli specially for me, no charge, great service and a pleasant surprise.

A group of my family and friends called at the Wateredge Inn for a long Saturday lunch because it was a lovely sunny day. The gardens leading to the lake are a fantasic spot to sit, relax and enjoy a meal or drink. The kids were able to run around and enjoy the day playing ball etc. The meal tables... More

If you are looking for a nice modern restaurant/pub in the Ambleside area then this is the place for you. The décor is modern without being distasteful. They are very dog friendly which was good as we had a little pug with us. The food was very nice without being amazing and overall we had a very pleasant evening. Unfortunately... More
