Whenever i am in Ambleside i like to stray from the crowd, and find something unique. Over the past seven years Lucy's has been the ideal place, it was quirky, good food and friendly. However that ended this weekend, i am not sure if Lucy has forgotten her roots, or simply bad staffing decisions. Today we entered Lucy's for lunch,... More

As you can see from previous reviews I am usually a positive reviewer but after a bad meal at this restaurant over the weekend I felt I had to let people know what it was like. Booked for a birthday celebration with 13 diners. We had pre-ordered off the 666 menu a week previous and all had been dealt with... More

While my wife and I were in Ambleside we dropped into Lucy's for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. We sat in the court yard at the back in the sunshine and had the biggest slice of cake each you have ever seen. I had chocolate fudge cake and my wife had coffee and walnut, both of... More

It was our first time at Lucy's. There were four of us.of us all was ok including the service. Nothing spectacular but equally nothing bad. One thing I do feel the need to comment upon was the desert board which I had had my eye on all evening as I had spied my favourite bread and butter pudding. When it... More

Really disappointing. Two diners, just main courses and a glass of wine each for nearly £50. I don't mind paying over the odds for great food and service but this had neither. The Frittata was bland, greasy and over salty in places, I had to remind them that it came with salad. My partners fish pie had been cooked with... More

We have always dined at Lucy's every time we visit the Lakes. Always had good food and service in a lovely atmosphere. We booked for a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant was full. We ordered our starters, which arrived promptly. Unfortunately we then had to wait 50 minutes for the main course to arrive. Following the meal, which was delicious,... More

My kids love this restaurant and its true the ambience is lovely. However, the food was really expensive and there was a large party in that night. With 4 dogs and 2 kids running round it wasn't a good experience. I can't understand why dogs are allowed into restaurants at night time, it's just not hygienic.

Visited Lucy's today...been before. Food good but took too long to arrive....we weren't the only ones who expressed concerns about the time delay....staff pleasant but not very attentive.....waited 25 minutes for ciabatta sandwich.......
