Loads of people like this place and it is a bugger to get in but there are a few issues. My scallop starter was nice but luke warm, if you are going to charge £12 for a starter it should be bang on the money, and £15 for a slice of cauliflower as a main, mmm! In all fairness my... More

This place is an inn, a pub/microbrew, and a fantastic restaurant tucked away down narrow winding country roads in rural Cumbria, the Lake District of England. We thought British food was bland, but this place makes the local delicacies come alive with flavor. Not to mention the incredible scenery and local charm that exudes from the landscape and the people... More

Passed by for a mid-morning drink and returned later in the day for lunch, as wanted meat that was ethically sourced, Ordered the chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich with chips. Was hugely disappointed to receive the chicken sandwich pre-wrapped and chilled. It had minimal bacon in it and was generally disappointing. After the meal, mentioned... More

The Drunken Duck is in the most beautiful location with fantastic views. The bar is exceptionally welcoming and attractive. Menu varied and appealing whilst being quite short which is good. Wine list really very good. Service from the start was excellent and welcoming. Food very well cooked and presented, with an unexpected and welcome amuse bouche. The only comment, which... More

From the moment you enter you are treated to an excellent friendly courteous team. Reading the menu was a little challenging with some ingredients we were not familiar with, but the waiter did an outstanding job explaining the various ingredients, when the meals arrived they were not only delicious but superbly presented. My adult son and I had the duck... More

Came across The Drunken Duck completely by accident but wish we had found it earlier! What a great pub! The food, choice of beer, ambience and location all add up to make this one of the best pubs in The Lakes - highly recommended even though it is hard to find!

This is. certainly a place not to miss when in the Lake District. It was new to us but we will definitely be back. The food was cooked to a high standard. The Hake main fish course I had was cooked to perfection. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Guinea fowl . The Starters and puddings were very imaginative . The... More

My partner and I with our pooch visited The Drunken Duck whilst on holiday walking in the Lakes and it had been recommended to us by my sister. It was a really hot summer day and the car park was full, so initially we weren't sure that we'd get a table. No problem whatsoever, it would appear that most people... More

Really busy and won't take bookings. But if you brave it and manage to get a table then you will have one of the best Sunday roasts money can buy.
