a dog friendly pub with attached restaurant and a nice fire. Well worth a visit. It was busy but everyone was friendly and we spent a few hours out of the cold in good company.

No cheap, but excellent quality. The menu offers a tasteful selection. Great selection of beers from their own brewery. Extensive wine list.

Saw this pub on the way back from Tarn Hows and thought it looked very quaint. We never intended to have a meal as we had dinner sorted for that evening but thought a beer/wine might be nice. The GF had a white wine and I had a locally brewed lager, a Coniston brewery Pilsner I believe, which was the... More

We walked over to The Drunken Duck from Skelwith bridge, maybe a 90 minute walk. It was a lovely day so was nice sitting outside. They had some good beers on tap. I had the Pork sandwich, guacamole, chipotle mayo, chips which was absolutely delicious, £12 sounds like a lot for a sandwich but I came with enough chips for... More

I found the menu a little limiting and for me that is rare! Vinegar themed starters pickled fish vinegar infused soup?.. I ended up having a scotch egg with kipper. It was tasty but not wow. Sirloin special was ordered by 4 of the group. I asked for blue and was advised that it's part roasted and might just be... More

Tried to get a table last year at this highly regarded and acclaimed foodie rests-pub, and couldn't, so was determined to try this holiday visit. The bar area was full and quietly humming, but when we went through to dine the dining room was somewhat too quiet, lacking in atmosphere. Well, never mind we went for the food and were... More

Although the kitchen is undergoing renovations, the limited menu was.more than acceptable and the quality of food very good. We had the dahl and couldnt fault it. Beautifully presented and quite delicious, it was a wonderful meal for a.cold.and miserable day. Would recommend this to anyone and have to say that we.found the staff friendly and helpful.

Very busy pub, but the food options and quality were excellent. Homemade soup was great value on a very cold and wet day

The Drunken Duck has a great reputation and we have been before a few times. We went here on New Years Day for lunch with friends (in the bar area) and we were really disappointed with the limited choice of food. Mostly it was sandwiches and chips with a couple of "proper" meals. Not what we remembered at all and... More

I was taken by the hops hanging from the ceilings of the pub, before even thinking about food. The lunch menu is simple, but the food is very good and quite reasonable for the Lake District. The staff was friendly and showed us around the Inn. The next time I am in that area I will be sure to stay... More
