a quick drink

We found this place while out for a drive and decided to have quick drink non alcoholic for me as I was driving. The drunken duck looks like a normal village pub from the outside but on entering we found a small bar area and a large resturant type area so food must be the main sales here but this... read more

This pub is stunning it has a beautiful restaurant makes some of its own ales. Parking can be difficult at busy times. Sat outside and the ducks wandered on the road. Beautiful place and they have rooms to rent that look stunning. Highly recommended and will be back again.

Something of a Gastropub and not easy to get an evening table. Perhaps not as good as the crowd suggests, but good for the area. Lunchtime is unreserved with innovative sandwiches etc. Own beer is good. Tried three white wines, including their NZ Sauvignon. All disappointing but Pinot Noir was OK. Did two lunches, to escape from the rain, and... More

I've stopped off a few times for a couple of pints at The Drunken Duck whilst heading back to various bases while on walking holidays in the Lakes. I seem to keep making sure my route passes this particular little spot. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant staff, cracking beer. What more could you want?

Came for lunch had delicious Halumi cheese chilli and pepper on beautiful homemade bread roll not cheap at £7 for a sandwich but then again it was a gastronomic delight of a sandwich. Lovely place for food and drinks we will return

One of the best dessert I ever had... overall excellent dishes with attention to details. Better to stay in the inn to enjoy the full experience.

Been a few bad reviews lately, but we had a great time for an evening meal. It was a bit like master chef, who would go to the trouble of making a clear tomato drink? The chefs had obviously spent hours creating every ingredient by hand, and there was a taste explosion within each course. This is not the place... More

We called at the Drunken duck for Sunday lunch while on holiday in the lakes looked very nice from outside, but that's where it ended. We were offered a table for two for the three of us, I went straight to the bathrooms and was told by the ladies in there that they were sorry but the toilets were taking 10... ...and they were met in each category. Small menue, very good cooking, fresh beer from their own brewery (must taste!), selection of fine wines and if you ask for armagnacs - you will be surprised that you have a choice... Ambience is also nice and cozy, only service seemed sometimes a bit stressed. Sitting outside comes with a great vista.
