We had read about this place in our guide book, and it had a lot to live up to, but suffice to say it lived up to expectations. We went for lunch when visiting Ambleside. On entry the welcome was a little underwhelming, but we found a table, sat down, and worked out that menus needed to be grabbed from... More

Eaten here five times always out of season always very good food and service bit limited on the menu, but what they do they do well. Good selection of wines and some nice beers, price are bit rich but worth the visit for good night

Visited for lunch. Lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed the salt beef sandwich, excellent cheese board. However the fish tomato broth was disappointing. Extremely thick in texture but flavor was nice .

Went here for a quick lunch as we had heard a lot about this place. Mum had fish "broth" which unfortunately was a thick soup - but other than that the salt beef sandwich is to die for and the cheese board impressive. Would try again

We had a delicious pork sandwich here in front of the nice warm log burner in the bar. Lovely way to spend lunchtime after a nice walk and it was brilliant that the dog could sit with us too.

We booked to visit the Drunken Duck on its reputation and we were really pleased we did. The atmosphere was great and the staff very friendly with attentive service even though the pub was very busy. The menu, although not vast, had a really good selection which would have suited most tastes or needs. It's not cheap but didn't seem... More

On a recent walking holiday we decided to try the Drunken Duck for lunch as had heard it had great reputation. We planned our route to allow a stop mid point and arrived to find the place bustling which is always a good sign. The good Great atmosphere, pleasant decor and friendly professional staff. They also allow dogs in the... More

Went for lunch and the inn was full. Always a good sign. The menu was interesting albeit pricey but we expected that. Nice atmosphere. We both had hot sandwiched which were yummy only disappointment that not all sandwiches come with chips. Would go again.

Where do I start... My first visit to this restaurant/pub was truly fantastic! The pulled pork sandwich is AMAZING! The beer board idea brewed in their on site micro brewery is genius. I then booked a stay at the hotel for my partners birthday as we both loved it that much. The room we had was absolutely gorgeous, from the... More
