The food was excellent - great choices and all delicious

Not a cheap restaurant, but an excellent menu with some unusual choices, all very well executed. The resturant itself is nicely atmospheric, great for romantic dining! Visited with friends on a busy Saturday night . After trying out the local beers at the bar the friendly and knowledgable staff showed us to our table. Starter was a revelation a "Kipper Scotch Egg" sitting on a bed of homemade brown sauce (trust me it was incredible) couple of bottles of Red from the great wine list later... More

A very short review: Whenever one is in the Lakes one should always go to The Drunken Duck and sit outside with a VERY local pint to enjoy the spectacular view.

We took a drive out to have lunch at the Drunken Duck on a very rainy day, First impressions were, this is not my kind of pub, it has a very much upmarket feel to the place, however, the staff were friendly, service was good, choice of real ales very impressive and the light lunches we ordered could only be... We ended up at The Drunken Duck by accident. The days planned walk had been a bit of an epic fail & we were left looking for somewhere to eat around Grizedale Forest. I did a quick look in the Lonely Planet & we drove here. I did feel a bit apprehensive as we were both in full walking gear... More

Warm atmosphere awaits at a traditional country pub. Good internal decoration, warm and friendly along with walls adorned with traditional hunting scenes in the Lake District. Extremely nice place to have a drink after a good hike. I do agree however with the comments about the place having an identity crisis. Is it a pub or a fine dining establishment?... More

An excellent choice of small or larger dishes for lunch. Lovely log fire burning as you walk in the door.

After a lovely walk around Tarn Hows the Drunken Duck is the perfect place to stop and take in some refreshment. This is not the place to take in your classic pub lunch but if your looking for something different which is locally sourced and homemade this is the place for you.

Featured in a top ten list so decided to give it a try. Looked good nice atmosphere open fire great setting. Ordered and you pay before your food arrives, my alarm bells would normally be ringing but the place looked the part, so I sat down looking forward to my Reuben £6 roll and bowl of £4 chips. For that... More

We have neither eaten or slept at The Drunken Duck. But the menu looks good, the staff are well engaged and the atmosphere is just right. Kitchen is fully visible and seems to work like a dream. A great blend of 'trendy, country, cosy and warm' with wood burning stove, plenty of seating areas. Pretty setting 3/4 of a mile... More
