Pretty place, fab food

We visited the Drunken Duck after a recommendation from a friend. Really lovely setting and such a pretty pub. Good was very good, the salads and quiches were excellent and the veggie Sunday roast wasn't half bad either, tiny niggle, plates were cleared as some of our diners were still eating... read more

Went there to celebrate retirement and wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. The service was great, the food amazing and the place had a lovely 'buzz'. Yes it's busy but that's because it's good. Would recommend for a special occasion.

Food and beer were good, most of the servers were lovely, but one really offensive server spoiled our entire experience. This individual acted like the lead server, though I'm not entirely sure, gave us attitude from the moment we called to reserve a table with a baby and continued with glares and cold shoulders until the moment we left. We're recommended this pub on our drive and were not disappointed. Had soup and sourdough bread and we share the most delicious Eccles cake with clotted cream. It was to die for. Definitely recommend

Just had the home-brewed beer and a sandwich. Both excellent. Sandwich expensive, but I prefer an expensive excellent sandwich to a cheap bad one. Good pub atmosphere in the middle of nowhere. But if I'd turned up wet through in my hiking gear instead of in my car then I might have felt out of place. Horse for a course.

sat outside in the sun and had some very tasty food. Only problem was the high wind - not their - which meant that we didn't want to sit where we could see the view. However, the quiche and salad that I had was just right.

My wife and i decided to check this place out whilst staying nearby at Brimstone and we loved it! We sat and had a couple of drinks on a Sunday afternoon and decided that we wanted to dine their that evening, unluckily for us they were fully booked but we know it was a long shot when we asked so... After a two night stay using the restaurant on both nights I didn't walk away with a feeling of fulfilment. It was ok !, but just ok! I thing the rooms were average and the food for the price you pay was certainly not amazing. Ok but that's about the best I can say.
