Delicious lamb, steak and puddings! fabulous choice of wine and efficient service - lovely atmosphere and decor.
We were considering where to eat in the Lake District to celebrate our 5th year anniversary and came across the Glass House on here. After viewing the responses from the owner in regards to the low scores there is not one chance on earth I would eat here. I will be advising all my friends, family and colleagues to do... More
Very cozy restaurant with lovely food and great service. I would go back again, no problems at all. The decor is very quaint and surprisingly spacious
We've been here a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed the food. It's always a treat so we save a visit for a special occasion. Service has always been very good, and the layout of the restaurant gives the feel of never being too busy, even when it's full.
My partner and I have never been to the Lake District before and this restaurant was recommended by a friend who had been a couple if years ago and so we thought we would give it a try. I could not fault the staff, they were attentive and very pleasant however it was a Friday night and the restaurant had... More

The staff were all very efficient and friendly. I f anything the service was too quick. The two course meal was completed in less than... More
I visit Ambleside many times, and if staying the night, I do like to eat at The Glass House. Its is a very pleasant setting and the menu is always good. Pleasant and friendly staff.

Its a great spot in the summer to sit outside, soak up some sun and watch the world go by, whilst downing a few beers and enjoying a sandwich or something hot. Or when the... More
We had a great meal at the glass house. The white bait was similar to what we have in Spain. The lamb main course was great... as it always seems to be in the Lakes. Prompt service, and a convivial atmosphere. We would recommend the Glass House.
We only called in for a coffee and a warm up to escape the rain but were glad we did. It was cosy but nicely furnished. The coffee were great and less than £2 each. Staff were were very friendly too. Would love to return for a meal, the menu looked lovely. There was a couple having breakfast which looked... More
