Went in with my wife for a late lunch. Initial service was acceptable while busy but as soon as it quietened off the lady serving seemed preoccupied with other things including her friends. She got out a scone as ordered for my wife and left it on the side and forgot about it. My wife never got it. She also... More

We came here on Saturday afternoon around 12pm, we came here especially after seeing what were good reviews! We went in and found a seat, now it wasn't overly busy but there were other people in, 2 other couples that came in after us were both asked what they would like and were served there drinks before we were even... We found Daisy's whilst wandering around Ambleside looking for somewhere for lunch. The menu was standard for lunch offering toasties, soup, jacket potatoes plus o her options. The selection of homemade cakes was inviting and they also had a children's menu. The owner of the restaurant was very welcoming and accommodating of my children's fussy food requests! We didn't wait... More

Visited here on a Sunday morning, husband fancied a cooked breakfast before a long walk. Found a table okay, quite busy, but enough seats left. Order was taken quickly - two coffees and a full brekkie for the husband. Drinks were soon with us, but the food took an absolute age...I am not exagerating when I say it was 40... More

Called into Daisy's, I was told new owners had taken over, so I thought I'd give it a try, had Jacket Potato with cheese, very nice, great staff, and vey nice owner, who is trying hard to create a good café. Hope you do well, you deserve it. Peter, Kirkby Lonsdale.

Having walked around Rydal and Grasmere, our group of four was ready for coffee and cake. We avoided the multi national chains and as always headed for a local independent business. We were greeted warmly by a lady who we perceived to be the owner. We were seated quickly and our order was taken by the owners daughter, who was... More

We didn't realise this was a dog friendly cake shop but a family member came in with their dog and stood at the counter just next to our table..my friend asked the girl to control their dog as it was sniffing his food and the resulting outcome was not good..someone behind the counter asked her to take the dog out... It's got to be difficult when there are so many places to go for food and drink however somehow "Daisy's" charmed us in.... Really friendly staff and a great spot for lunch snack or just a coffee and "amazing scones".... Simple menu that's hits the spot an great value for money.... So when you are wondering where to go don't... More

I first visited Daisy's a couple of years ago and left feeling very satisfied after eating one of the best ham and cheese toasties I have ever had. We visited again on 27/08/14 and left feeling very disappointed. Food was not up to scratch considering the price. We won't be returning a 3rd time. Shame as the previous owners had... More
