Great little place to have a break from walking around in the rain. Shame they'd sold out of what I wanted but still enjoyed the alternative.

Always a favourite when in Ambleside. If you don't want generic tea and coffee head for Cafe Treff and their cakes are glorious too!

Amazing fresh food, my bacon and brie toasted sandwich was divine and my sons milk shake tasted of actual strawberrys. Great food, great service, great place.

Went here a couple of time with the family. Great selection of cakes and a really good range of drinks for the kids and an even better range of coffee for the adults. Highly recommend after a good walk.

Cafe Treff is cosy, and is decorated with Swiss posters that add to the feeling of Switzerland. The cakes are scrumptious, and lunches are lovely to have- I like the jacket potatoes best! They have a selection of coffees around the world, and also a fine collection of loose leaf teas. The Mango Tango is my favorite smoothie for Summer.... More

Found this little place a while ago but never really left a review. What a little gem!!! My husband and I decided on toasted sandwiches made from freshly cut bread. No packet sliced bread here - thank goodness!!! There was a good range of items on the menu. Tea was made from loose leafed tea and served in great teapots.... More

Great leaf tea and Americans. Friendly service. Swiss alpine posters. ...all very pleasant on a rainy Saturday afternoon in August. Will definitely visit again when in Ambleside.

I can't say a bad word about this place.....it was absolutely superb! The roast ham sandwich was honestly the best thing I've tasted for a long time, and I'm not even a coffee drinker (I usually find it too bitter) but the mocha was to die for! Our fondness for the place was shown in the fact that we didn't... More
