I can't say a bad word about this place.....it was absolutely superb! The roast ham sandwich was honestly the best thing I've tasted for a long time, and I'm not even a coffee drinker (I usually find it too bitter) but the mocha was to die for! Our fondness for the place was shown in the fact that we didn't... More

I have to say that after a week in the Lakes I have got used to things being £2-3 more than anywhere else that is not a tourist hotspot. It's understandable but never welcome, so two albeit tasty sandwiches and one pot of tea here costs the same as two main meals, 2 pints and a juice when eating just... More

We visited today and had really great coffee and tea. Ask for an Afogatto! It's right next to Fred's Bookshop.

We always go to cafe tref's when on holiday as we are never disappointed. Great service and my husband had wholemeal toast which was thick and lovely, I had crumpets and we both had lattes. A lovely cafe worth a visit when in ambleside.

I was delighted by my visit to Cafe Treff. Seeing the wide range of coffees available, I chose cafetière coffee and was impressed. It was superior quality coffee properly made, worth every penny. It was such a contrast with the indeterminate, weak brew that is so common in UK chain coffee operations. My coffee cake was also excellent and the... More

We came here on a rainy day for a bit of lunch and a cake. I had tomato and basil soup with big chunky white bread and husband had honey glazed ham and mozzarella toastie which were both really nice. We had a tea which is served in a pot with tea leaves in. I had carrot cake and husband... More

We stopped in here for a quick drink on a rainy day. I had a latte which was amazing, and came with a tiny milka bar which brightened up my day. We also ordered a strawberry milkshake which was made with real fruit, it was glorious and not too expensive.
