Just my cup of tea

Have been coming here for c12 years and despite 2 changes of owners it's always great.Does nice veggie, plenty of wheat free. It is very small so you may not get in. And it closes a couple of days a week. And I think it's shut after c5

We had tea here one day. DELICIOUS scones and worth a wait. The restaurant is very small and it was crowded. We decided to wait for seating.

We stopped at the Rattle Gill Cafe for a drink and a cake and were not disappointed. The cake platter was fantastic with a great range of tasty cakes. It is a very cute place with a homey feel and lots of art and interesting things to look at. The staff were friendly and attentive and I would like to... More

Based on TripAdvisors reviews, I was looking forward to get at least a coffee, even a takeaway coffee, when I was on my way back from Grasmere. Parked the car, payed abnourmous amount of money for the parking and went quickly by the river to get a coffee, found a place and even it's entrance blocked by a kind of... More

Saw recommendation in TripAdvisor and wasn't disappointed. We both had the Feta and Leek Quiche and loved it. It came with a lovely salad, very good. Lovely friendly owners, so impressed we came back later for a cake and that was excellent too.

Found this quaint café by accident - and what a pleasant surprise. Ate lunch there on a couple of occasions and food was delicious. It is very small so at busy times you may be lucky to find a seat. Recommended.

Really lovely home cooked healthy food. Small friendly cafe tucked away from the main town with outside tables available. The gluten free cakes are gorgeous, and portion sizes are plentiful.

Food good but service indifferent too busy talking to a table of people who were known to staff, made to feel almost invisible.

Have visited this Cafe twice in the last month. Very dog friendly and although the inside of cafe is small, it is warm and welcoming. We had the cake platter which was good value and varied. On our most recent visit we sat outside and had the cream tea. Nice and sheltered from the sun and good value at £8.50.... More

Generous portions of food. We loved every part of the meal. I had the soup and this was very hearty and warmed me up before a long walk! Others had soup combo (with a panini) and chilli combo (chilli con carne - amazing portion and panini). All was vegetarian and panoni fillings sounded bliss! Definitely will come here again when...
