We must have walked past this restaurant dozens of times over the years and never take a second look... It was a busy Wednesday evening in Ambleside and all of the usual places were full so in we went. I find Indian restaurants nowadays have lost their old fashioned 'taste' but this one still retains the magic flavours and offered... More

Situated in the heart of Ambleside, just a short stroll from bus station, this Indian restaurant has a good atmosphere, good food and decent choice of meals. The restaurant is quite large, with plenty of seating.

Great Indian in the centre of Ambleside delivering excellent standards of food and service where you do not really expect it! Highly recommended.

The food was tasty. The restaurant is filthy. The carpet is threadbare in places and sticky. The once white skirting boards are stained yellow. The chairs are smelly and stained. The waiter with a beard is definitely in the wrong job, very grumpy and inpolite.

This is our local Indian restaurant and we have been visiting regularly for years. Since the renovations the atmosphere and decor is much improved. The food however has always been good, and that remains the case. Always a pleasure to eat here.

The food we had was quite nice. Nothing to write home about but OK. The toilets are disgusting and the whole place needs a good clean. I probably won't go back

Not easy to find, but the search is worth the effort. Selecting your dishes takes time as you have a lot to select from. And they have Kingfisher beer too! The dining room is well lighted. the only drawback is that the view is not something to write home about, but the quality of food more than compensates that.

Food was good, enjoyed from the comfort of our hotel room so can't comment on the staff. Very pricey though!

Nothing to write home about at this place. The food was okay, but nothing special. Such a shame, as this restaurant has a pretty central location in Ambleside. As the evening wore on, more people arrived and the atmosphere improved. The waiters all had a tendency to stand and watch you and this was quite off-putting, but they were friendly... More
