Really lovely food, you just have to ignore the manky toilets :) Service was excellent and it was the best curry a lot of us had in a while. will definitely return.

Ate here one night, meal was ok...service and cleanliness not great! In need of a bit of redecorating.

Had a pleasant meal. The staff were attentive but typically robotic and lacked any humour (evidently were understaffed that night). Food was good but servings could have been better presented and there was a lack of meat in the dishes.

16 August 4 Adults for evening meal. As per previous reviewer we were surprised by the 'surly' greeting. Three of the main courses ordered were: Madras, Jalferezi, Balti of which the last two were not as expected and on further investigation we all concluded that the Madras curry sauce (the hottest) had been used in all 3 meals. There are... More

...but were really pleased we went here. We booked for 8:30pm but turned up at 7:30pm due to being ravenous after a day out walking. The staff were more than happy to seat us early and found us room. The waiter we had was good fun (apparently his first day but I'm not so sure) and very polite. If I... More

This was our second visit to this restaurant in twelve months. The food is fine and overall we enjoyed our meal. We have had better elsewhere but there's only one Indian restaurant in Ambleside so there's no alternative venue if you like curries. Our main complaint however was regarding the service which was slow and unenthusiastic.

Nice venue but I can't believe an HOUR after ordering I still have no curry. It's not busy, just terrible service. Had to flag a waiter down having sat there for quarter or an hour just to get a drink!Won't be coming back again! Appalling!

My wife and I took a couple of friends there on a Saturday night. When we walked in we were met with a grim stare from the barmaid who said nothing and the waiters ignored us. After a considerable wait we were shown to a table by an unfriendly waiter who didn't bother with any conversation. The carpet was so... More
