Excellent food !!!!

Having read previous reviews I have to conclude that some people are more picky than me - the food was excellent, service was excellent and value for money. Ok there could have been more of an atmosphere but I can't blame the staff for that - proof in the pudding is the eating and the food was... read more

If you like traditional bright orange chicken tikka masala then this is the place for you. However if you expect top quality Indian cuisine I'm afraid you will be disappointed. Staff seem nice but the decor is dated and the food dissapointing. The thing is it's the only Indian in Ambleside so if you want Indian this is it sorry!

Lovely meal - lots of choice and great value. I had vegetable karahi which was very tasty. The staff are really pleasant and don't hassle you - we just sat and chatted for a while after we'd eaten. The restaurant was at just the right temperature too!

Don't know what was going on in the Kitchen, but everyone in the place seemed to be waiting quite a while for their food. The drinks and poppadums were served quickly. The food was really good and very tasty and on balance worth the wait, so be prepared.

Had a takeaway from here, had cashew nut curry (not bad at all) onion bhajis, rice etc. Prices are fair, food was hot. Would use it again but wouldn't rave about it, was good average curry.

The food was ok and the service very good. An ok restaurant to visit, quite a large restaurant and didn't feel particularly atmospheric but on the whole we enjoyed our time there and again, the staff were very good

Things on the menu I have never had before in any other Asian restaurant (as well as the usuals) and they are LOVELY. Good choices for vegetarians and pescatarians.

We have eaten here on several occasions over the past few years. The interior is much better than it was when we first visited, the restaurant having expanded next door. The food is good although on our last visit the Dansak was simply far too hot and in the end we ended up leaving half of it. A good place... More
