Decided to give it a try, as it was a cold night and not far from our hotel. We ordered only a main course and a nan bread each, 60 mins later it arrived. We both found the food luke warm and the sauce very sweet. Maybe we are use to midland size nan, but the nans were very small.... read more

Great food and beer. Eat here you will not be disappointed! We had starters (Sheek kebab was fantastic) and mains of Chicken Tikka Danzak and a Chef's Special. Rates up there in terms of Indian Food (and I used to live in Birmingham so have tried a few!!)

The service here was good and so was the food. Hit the spot on our rainy night of arrival. Well priced.

Visited here on a Saturday evening. The meal was quite nice, good portions and my Dupiaza sauce tasted very good, if I was being picky the chicken probably lacked a bit of flavour, perhaps next time I would either go for tikka chicken as my wife reckoned that her tikka dish was quite spicy, or I may try the lamb.... This place was around the corner from our accommodation so gave it a try. Had a nice setting and attentive staff. Not much choice of starters or drinks but good choice of mains. Food was nice but expected more for the price.

My wife and I ate here on a Wednesday night and had the place to ourselves apart from the staff and a couple of take away orders, service was good and the food was very tasty, it was recommended to us by our hosts and we're glad we tried it, priced about right for an Indian restaurant and certainly not... Having read previous reviews I have to conclude that some people are more picky than me - the food was excellent, service was excellent and value for money. Ok there could have been more of an atmosphere but I can't blame the staff for that - proof in the pudding is the eating and the food was excellent. I for... More

If you like traditional bright orange chicken tikka masala then this is the place for you. However if you expect top quality Indian cuisine I'm afraid you will be disappointed. Staff seem nice but the decor is dated and the food dissapointing. The thing is it's the only Indian in Ambleside so if you want Indian this is it sorry!

Lovely meal - lots of choice and great value. I had vegetable karahi which was very tasty. The staff are really pleasant and don't hassle you - we just sat and chatted for a while after we'd eaten. The restaurant was at just the right temperature too!
