Lucy4 Wine Bar & Bistro is tucked away in the backstreets of Ambleside and is a combination of cockt4ils, wines, continental and local bottled beers, soft drinks, together with a wide range of mix and match style food ... it's not exactly tapas in that the portions are bigger than tapas and a little more interesting in variety. It's a fun and fiendish place 4 everyone ... Ideal 4 Individuals, Perfect 4 Parties, Cosy 4 Couples and Fun 4 Families. Live Acoustic guitar most Sundays from 9pm. Open daily from 5pm and last food orders at 10.30pm. Set on two levels, with entrances at both - outside decking area as well as small, compact bar area. Lovely atmosphere and decor but service and drinks lacking

Loved the atmosphere in here. Great décor and music and we could have stayed in here for hours. We ordered some drinks. I had a mojito which was poor. There was hardly any taste to it. My children had the virgin mojitos which were beyond sickly sweet - so much so that they couldn't drink them... read more

Must admit that as we have been to this place many times over last few years it has started to decline. Good food and wine but does seem to struggle getting people in when we go there - not really sure why but lots of staff changes and maybe doesn't seem to know how to market itself

I love unique dining experiences and this was up there. Discovering this place by glancing down an alleyway had me hooked from the start. We went for a glass of wine first and sat outside with the dogs. Lovely wine and knowledgable waiter. We came back the following night with my grownup nieces. Tasty cocktails and great Tapas. Had a... More

It's set back from the bustle of the street and it was my birthday so we let the rather pricey drinks go on this occasion. The music was nice and chilled and it was quiet in the bar. We ordered our tapas with advice from the waiter and we're taken downstairs to the restaurant . The food was excellent and... More

Lots of conflicting reviews recently, I can only speak as my wife and I found, we loved it! Great food, nice tapas selection and really attentive staff. Yes the drinks are little on the expensive side but if you want something different in the way of food, this is a great place to visit in Ambleside.

Have been coming here for 10 years. This was always my favourite restaurant. I don't know whether it has been taken over but the menu choice has been reduced significantly and many of the old favourites have disappeared. The food was quite bland and the staff too keen to clear our plates even when we were still eating. It is... More

Both me and my vegetarian wife thoroughly enjoyed our delicious Tapas meal at Lucy4 on a Friday evening, we pre-booked the meal earlier on in the day, the food was delivered in dribs and drabs as you would expect in a tapas restaurant, each dish was so tasty and fresh, the rose tempranillo was also very nice, we both finished... We wanted somewhere to have glass of wine before our meal in Ambleside and stumbled across this little wine and tapas bar down a back street. I wish we hadn't. The wine was over priced, £5-6 a glass and the cocktails were c. £7 each. Spread over two floors, there were obviously others downstairs but we were the only customers... More

Is there life on Mars? Possibly. There sure isn't much in this place though. Popped in for a quick drink before a meal elsewhere around 8:30 midweek. Everywhere else seemed jammed this place desolate. Over priced - had my glass of wine and left feeling ripped off. On the board it has various bits and bobs of information/comment one of... More

Walked in on a recommendation from a friend after visiting the cinema. Ok, it was early, 5pm and the restaurant had only just opened but the place had a serious lack of atmosphere. We ordered a selection of tapas, they arrived gradually, as we had expected. What we hadn't expected was the distinctly average and sometimes poor quality food. The... More
