One of our favourite restaurants. Always good food in a slightly unusual environment that we like with good friendly but professional service. The mid week 3 course specials are particularly good value.

Went for birthday meal - was surprised how small venue was but no matter. Think we arrived before half of wait staff as they came fussing around bringing salt pots, water and glasses after we were seated. Our sitting was for 7 pm. I did find choice a little limited but food was decent. Lovely glass of rose. I had... More

We enjoyed the food at this restaurant. We were taken there by locals. The food was homely, fresh and included healthy vegetables in the main prices. Something rare these days. Staff and at,osphere lovely. The location is private and tranquil. Great for small groups.

We went to Crofters for Sunday lunch and to also celebrate our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is in a lovely quaint cottage in Anlaby, East Yorkshire. They have dining rooms upstairs to cater for larger families or parties of friends etc.,which provides an intimate atmosphere. The food is excellent and the Sunday lunch is very good value for money. The... More

The Crofters is a small restaurant serving classically English food. The atmosphere is a little too quiet for me, but that could be just last night. A few paintings or items around would help create an atmosphere, as it did feel rather sparse. The food was really nice, not too big a portion, leaving room for a lovely pudding :)... More

I went to this restaurant with mu Uncle and his partner on a Friday night. We dined upstairs in one of the 3 smaller rooms, which had a nice atmosphere. Service was attentive and we ate from the table d'hote the menu was reassuringly limited, ensuring that things were freshly prepared and in season. Food was good, represented excellent value... Nice place this, probably originally a house, nestled in Anlaby. Welcoming, cosy and comfy with a number of rooms. Very nice staff and service, a nice menu choice, and good cooking, without being over-elaborate. Sensibly priced, and just a thoroughly good evening. Would definitely go again. If I had an observation, the place is small enough for the chef to... More
