We ate here while staying in Dover on our way to France. The food was delicious, good service, even though they were very busy. We saw lots of people (who had no reservations) being turned away as their seating is limited. I would certainly advise booking.

We were in Dover, too tired to cook, and knew La Scala from before. Once again, could not fault the experience. Delicious paté with sweet red onion marmalade was ideally balanced, and the veal escalope in cream and mushroom sauce followed just right. A plate of 4 delicious cheeses to finish my glass of excellent upmarket red, a good bottle... More

We popped into La Scala prior to the show and was not disappointed in the slightest. We both had the special, a ribeye steak cooked to our liking. Service was fantastic, the steak was cooked to perfection and over an inch thick. Fantastic value for money. A well presented meal in a charming location close to the theatre.

Lovely little Italian restaurant serving more traditional food. The fresh pasta with chicken liver was particularly good. Wine was good value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Haven't been to La Scala for about 10 years - reason being the type of dishes served generally wouldn't appeal to my children, not the standard Italian fare in my opinion. Not complaining about that - the two times I visited in the past I liked the food a lot. Decided to visit on a Friday evening and booked a... More

What a sad town Dover is but one of its high lights is this little place. The food is freshly prepared and of good quality. A lovely interior not that you would know this from outside due to the awful net curtains. Take them down so everyone can see how lovely this place is! We had a lovely bottle of... More

We stayed in Dover for one night before leaving on a cruise. We found La Scala on tripadvisor. What a little gem. It's small but cosy and the spiral staircase to the mezzanine where we dined is so pretty. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The mussels we shared as a starter were delicious as were the... More

Really great food, excellent wine list. Well worth a visit and the money. Staff tried very hard but seemed to have a problem understanding my accent but they did everything to make our visit was pleasant. You will enjoy your meal here for sure. The person in the kitchen cares about his customers and presentation. Everything was very fresh and... More

I was invited out with my parents and there friends to visit La Scala in Dover and was promised a fabulous meal...that is what I got. The reatuarant is small with rustic, red brickwork and a sprial iron staircase leading to the upstairs area where we were to dine.Even though it was a busy night we were greeted warmly by... More
