After googling a tea room in Dover, finding the top hit to be Mrs Knott's, seeing a 4.5 out of 5 star rating and reading the many positive reviews about this tea room on Trip Advisor, I couldn't have been more excited to enjoy an afternoon lunch at this potentially wonderful tea room. Fail. I will admit the decor of... More

Having walked and taken hundreds of pictures around the majestic White Cliffs, the lighthouse tea-house was a wonderful discovery. Beautifully decorated, like something taken out of a Laura Ashley commercial, the place serves home-made treats, sandwiches, soups and other little dishes that can be enjoyed in the stylish dining rooms or outdoors on a nice day. The service is super,... More

My husband and I enjoyed sandwiches, scones, and tea here after our long walk across the White Cliffs. If I hadn't been hot and sweaty from the walk, I would've ordered their homemade soup, too. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. The sandwiches were tasty. The scones were perfect. Our tea was served in mismatched china teacups. Old music... More

Quirky old fashioned decor and tea-sets, a bit of a long queue to be served but that is because it is so good. Scones and cakes have all been excellent and the tea is perfect. And unlike the nearby Bluebell tea rooms, the staff are pleasant and helpful.

We visited the adjacent lighthouse and fancied a cup of tea and something to eat. What we weren't expecting was proper loose leaf tea with china crockery. It was the first time I had used a tea strainer in years. That combined with some lovely victoria sponge finished the visit off a treat. There is inside seating but as it... More

Attached to the South Foreland Lighouse this charming old world tearoom has both external and internal eating areas. The rooms are furnished early 20th century manner although they have been freshly decorated. Plenty of atmosphere and a great place to sample cakes , sandwiches etc, washed down with cups of tea and coffee,

Great place to stop for a typical English tea. They're just a bit disorganised! It takes awhile to get your tea but once you have it the surroundings are great. We sat in the little sun trap outside - just lovely!
