Wonderful cafe and lawns overlooking the sea

I did not go up the lighthouse as to me it seemed short and should have been in the sea, but the cafe and grounds are great and well worth a visit. You feel as if you are back in the 1950's. The staff are kind, helpful and friendly. The cafe sells old fashioned afternoon tea as a fair price.... read more

After a lovely walk we came across Mrs Knott's Tea-Room serving a popper pot of tea and homemade cakes in beautiful surroundings.

Tasty snacks, wonderful tea served in a tea pot with proper cups & saucers, even a tea strainer! Wonderful decor - it took me back to the 1950s! Friendly staff, even when busy. Stunning views. Great location for:- 1) Seeing France & 2) Kite flying!

A travel in the time, wonderful place, nice food and a great reward after a long walk. This restaurant serve the tea with scones as in a Victorian house and every detail shows how much care there is for pleasure the costumers. You must to go.

Great sea views from the picnic tables outside the cafe, which is part of the National Trust South Foreland lighthouse. Or eat inside on a wet day. Highly recommended.

Excellent tea room. Nice provisions, especially the Kentish Cream Tea which involved two scones. Nice atmosphere. Likes it a lot.

Mrs. Knott's tea room is at the other end of the white cliffs of Dover walk from the National Trust car park. Once we had walked the 2 miles to get there with our two year old we had built up quite an appetite. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't realise that it was going to be a... More

At the very end of our cliff walk we were delighted to find welcome refreshments at Mrs Knott’s Tearooms. We enjoyed Devonshire Teas, scones, jam and cream... and a freshly-brewed pot of excellent coffee. It was disappointing to find parts of the cliff trail littered with empty drink containers... . Let’s keep England beautiful, folks!~

This is the first time that I have visited the Tea Room following a long walk along the clifftop and visiting the new underground gun emplacement tunnels. It was good to sit and enjoy afternoon tea with a variety of cakes. A very clean and efficient place with friendly staff.
