Both had an very good VFM. Only drawback is running the drunks gauntlet outside front smoking area... Food was hot..and steak was cooked exactly to my liking rare/blue. Will definitely go back...just wish the front could be sorted somehow...for ambiance and service ...good. But Wetherspoons in Folkestone still wins

Great food, fantastic atmosphere, and awesome service, all at value pricing. Very broad menu, and the cheese & bacon burger I had for lunch today was the best I've had in years. Excellent.

Wetherspoons are a known quantity so you know what you'll get in a new town. We had a decent evening meal and drinks for a good price, nice atmosphere too.

This is a typical English pub, so if you want to experience that you should pay it a visit. The food is good, the fish and chips were great, sausages and mash not so much, but beer and desserts are also pretty good. The prices are normal and the atmosphere very much like in a pub. The place is also... More

Typical English pub. The food is definitely cheap, and for that price more than ok! The pub is popular with both locals and tourists, and is a good place to eat while waiting for the ferry. You have to order at the bar, with quick service, so ideal if you are in a hurry.

My wife and I had lunch at the 8 Bells in Cannon Street Dover. Part of the JD Wetherspoon empire offering a good selection of beers and good food at attractive prices. We were not disappointed!!! We both decided upon 'Meal Deals' whereby a drink is included in the menu price. My good lady decided upon the flaked salmon salad... More

Ate dinner here on a Thursday night in June. The fish & chips were good. The staff was friendly. We ate on the outside front patio, which started out nice, but was soon filled with a number of dirty, unshaven old coots who were smoking up a storm and ruined our dinner. Next time will find somewhere else to eat in Dover.

My husband and I loved all of our meals at the chain of Wetherspoon pubs where we ate during our trip to England. The Eight Bells Pub was no exception. We love their ribs, pies and salads.
