Lovely food and service!

Really enjoyed our meal here before our ferry crossing the next day. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and the kitchen dealt with my dietary requirement like true professionals! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I think overall it was just a tad on the expensive side... read more

Attended in December, The food was lovely but atmosphere in the restaurant was uncomfortable, staff seemed uninterested in there job and were not attentive. Made it seem like you were in the way. Tables were dirty and staff made it feel like it was a chore to do there job. Wi not be attending again.

Popped in here on recommendation by friends and are very glad we did. The restaurant is very attractive with lovely views, the staff very professional and attentive without being stuffy or intrusive. Our meals were absolutely fabulous (shoulder of lamb and pork belly), excellent quality ingredients, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The wine was very good and the cheese... More

A friend gave me a voucher for afternoon tea which we took at the Marquis at Akham. From the telephone booking to leaving after our meal the service was welcoming and efficient. The champagne, tea and food were first-rate. Six each of assorted figure sandwiches, scones and fancy small cakes were too much for my wife and I. It was... More

Visited Saturday night for dinner with friends..we had also booked in the hotel for the night. Nicely decorated restaurant/bar area..modern but homely. Manager & bar staff were all very friendly & efficient. Dinner was very nice...not rushed & efficiently served..one of the great points were that the tables in weren't crammed in...my pet hate, therefore conversation was able to be... More

We stayed overnight and had dinner in the restaurant last summer and were really impressed, however our second visitwas not so impressive. We felt that we weren't listened to when we had a couple of issues. One of the courses in the restaurant was a pea soup with many other ingredients, including whole hazelnuts which were very hard and we... More

We had a great meal here, well thought out and served professionally in a pleasant setting. The menu was interesting and sported local produce. The dishes were lovely and spot on. great friendly staff and reasonably priced for this sort of eating. Keep focused on good service and food and this place will be popular for years to come

Delicious and decadent. Great spread of sandwiches, scones, and desserts - Bakewell was fab! Comfortable surroundings, beautiful valley, and attentive service.
