We hope you're feeling hungry... Look forward to robust, fresh flavors served with imagination and flair in east Kent's newest contemporary restaurant. Our Head Chef presides over heavenly menus that change regularly and use locally caught fish and locally sourced produce. The wine, beer and drinks list is also top notch. Old school... New World... Nice food, but little atmosphere

The food was good, very good quality and well presented but the atmosphere is somewhat absent. Drinks selection was also fantastic - wide range of spirits and great selection of local Kent wine (try the Ortega!). Staff were also very pleasant and everything we asked for was done, but at the end of... read more

Booked a winter tasting menu midweek. The menu was fixed but its reading certainly wetted the appetite. A wonderful amuse bouche arrived and it was very inventive. The following courses were every bit as tasty and beautifully presented. Had an English wine and that was a delight. Service was attentive and informative. One of the best meals, my wife and... From the moment the four of us arrived, until the end of the meal everything was quite lovely. The staff are welcoming, efficient, very friendly and informative and the ambience is very pleasing. The food was delicious. I have a fairly small appetite so I ordered two starters and no main course. This was acceptable to them, and both plates... More

Luxurious room, fantastic food and service. I need say no more. You just have to check this place out for yourselves. I just could not get my wife up out of that luxurious big bed in the morning.

Had afternoon tea which was a gift for my 40th with my husband but have to say extremely disappointing. Presentation was not Marquis standard and thought it was very bland. We have had lunch and dinner on several occasions and always enjoyed the dining experience. We even had to ask for our tea and coffee so service was lacking!! It... More

We used to love this place and we'd stay overnight but the chef left and we were disappointed with the food and service at our last visit. Having written a polite (and what we thought was a helpful) letter providing feedback we thought we'd get a response but were again, disappointed. We didn't want to give up on this place... More

A kind of a gem in the midst of the Alkham valley, this is a nice location to visit. You must allow yourself quite some time when visiting however as nothing happens quickly here. The food is interesting but portions are small (as is typical of the type). There is also an element of theatre in the welcome, serving and... More

Two of us went for the four course tasting menu and this has left me really indecisive ! The restaurant is quite contemporary all cool grey etc ! For some reason it is one of those restaurants that make you want to whisper ! The starter a leek and potato velouté was overly seasoned and quite salty on the palate... More

We booked afternoon tea yesterday with the view that we were going to be in for an exceptional treat based on what I had read on their website, However, disappointingly the service was really slow, the staff lacked peronality and we waited a good 20mins before we were asked what we wanted to order. When the food did come, the... More
