The restaurant is located on a raised area overlooking an indoor farmers market, it is a great spot, you can do your shopping then have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food was of excellent quality and the dishes were very interesting, with an interesting selection of drinks, wines, beers and ciders. The cooking is essentially simple but very tasty, and... A restaurant inside a farmers market, which uses the freshest and most seasonal products to produce fantastic food. A real foodie treat.

Nice setting - relaxed and informal in this lovely former railway shed. Due to the daily changing menu (ingredients sourced from the Goods Shed Market in which this lovely find is located) the experience is always a surprise and something of a delight - Sunday lunch with family yesterday turned up some superb dishes - lamb 3 ways, chicken, wild... As a vegetarian it is so nice to be offered something really different to eat. I visited today with my parents and one year old. We had a great table set up with a highchair and were served promptly. We each had starters, mains and desserts (the pudding platter was the highlight!) and everything was fresh and delicious! We will... More

We took a brilliant short break in Canterbury in November and booked this restaurant beforehand, prompted by TA reviews. Following the first meal, which was such a good experience, we booked again for our final night. Eating in this space reminds me of beautiful food enjoyed in informal settings in Australia. This is not about 'fine dining' in that starchy... More

Annual christmas dinner with friends. Obviously convenient for travelling into Canterbury West by train. Restaurant shares space with market garden and has 'rustic' charm. Food is simply cooked and very good. Starter of Rabbit Terrine was excellent. Parsnip and Pear soup was also very good. Main of halibut was very good and well cooked. Ox Cheeks were popular with our... More

The daily changing lunch menu at 'Raf's' was a hit on a recent visit to The Goods Shed with friends. I had a simple but tasty starter of sardines on toast with gremolata followed by a tranche of turbot, crab & saffron. For pudding, I had a piece of rather dry lardy cake with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream.... More

Called in for Sunday lunch when visiting Canterbury on the back of a mention in the BBC Good Food magazine. All really enjoyed the food - especially the vegetarian options. Good atmosphere (in the midst of the food stalls) and friendly service. Nice to browse the food stalls after lunch too! When next in Canterbury we hope to visit again

Definitely to be experienced. Ate here recently and the food was good, wholesome local produce. By evening a quirky eateries and by day an amazing food hall. Fantastic produce...fish, meat, poultry, charcuterie, cheese, vegetables etc etc Situated next to Canterbury railway station and within easy walking distance of the historic city centre. Absolutely worth a visit. So different - go... More

We had to wait for a table for Sunday breakfast. The lady was helpful, pleasant, nice and seated my group of 5 about 10 min later. Then a different waitress was very rude and abrupt. She came to take the order and couldn't be bothered to even look us. I gave her my order and she was away with fairys.... More
