At last, I have been converted!

I have never been a fan of this restaurant but the meal we had on Tuesday was superb. Very well cooked, delicious food. Interesting ideas for the menu. I still struggle a bit with the way they try to keep you warm (blankets draped over the bannisters ffs!) and not sure I like eating in a... read more

"Where's the restaurant?" "At the station" "Near the station?" "No, at the station..." I have not had dinner before in a railway goods shed and, if this is the standard, then I'd be more than happy to try again. We dined early — 18:00 — and there were diners already sitting, waiting; good job we had a reservation. The market... More

We arrived rather late and expected to be turned away, but it was with great relief that we sat down to dine here after a much deserved 16 mile bike ride to and from the Crab and Winkle way (more on that in another review). We hadn't been since one icy cold evening of winter last year and so didn't... More

Been eyeing this up for a while and finally had the opportunity to go - well worth it. There's the little market area downstairs from where they source a lot of the fresh ingredients. We had 3 different starters, 3 different mains and 4 different desserts between the 4 of us and all were pronounced extremely nice. You do need... More

What a gem of a place this is. Sitting up on the raised gallery overlooking the busy Goods Shed indoor market, we had a tasty & great value lunch, watching the fascinating scene below. Prompt smiley service and great coffee. Then went downstairs and spent too much ! Easy parking outside too - but make a reservation at busy times.

Absolutely loved this place! The food stalls are wonderful and the food in the main restaurant was outstanding. Great place to buy cheese and meats at great prices but wonderful quality.

I booked this meal only a couple of days previous and was fitted in for a Saturday night. There is a good relaxed atmosphere with a raised view of a bar and the rest of the goods shed. The meal was excellent and we came out feeling very full, very happy and glad we had chosen to try this restaurant.... More

We were going to try the Wild Goose in the Goods Shed but when we saw it I realised I could not perch up on a bar stool so we chose Rafael's also in the Goods Shed building. The service was very prompt and friendly. The waitress was very reassuring about letting the chef know about my nut allergy. She... More

Looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday night we stumbled across the Goods Shed and thought we'd try the restaurant. Very glad we did, the food was lovely and fresh and the staff all very pleasant. Would definitely recommend but understand it can get quiet busy.

Went here for lunch today. There's a car park outside and it's almost attached to Canterbury West station in an old goods shed. One walks through the tempting farmers market and Rafael's in on an elevated platform overlooking the market. The menu changes daily and is pleasingly limited. Service was fine and our meal was very nice: herring with capers... More
