I took my family for a Saturday night meal and we had a great time, in and out within 2 hours or so, great food and good sized portions - friendly service and a great atmosphere, a must see!! I'd recommend this place to anyone

Two main things: the quality of the meal we shared with three friends in Rafael's was high and the setting in an indoor fresh food market was offbeat and unusual - a former goods shed on the edge of a main London-bound railway station. All chefs and waitresses bar one were in their twenties. Conveniences were old-fashioned plus super-cold, and... More

The restaurant is situated on a raised gallery in an old railway goods shed that is now an indoor food market. We went for a family lunch. The menu was seasonal and interesting, with a vegetarian option. Portions were large. Drinks were reasonably priced. Many interesting beers as well as wines. Young waitress was very busy, but pleasant and efficient.... More

We had a really delicious meal at Rafael's at the Goods Shed. Intense flavours, relaxed atmosphere and very good house red and friendly staff. It's very busy on Saturday nights but less so on other nights. One to try!

The restaurant is located on a raised area overlooking an indoor farmers market, it is a great spot, you can do your shopping then have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food was of excellent quality and the dishes were very interesting, with an interesting selection of drinks, wines, beers and ciders. The cooking is essentially simple but very tasty, and... A restaurant inside a farmers market, which uses the freshest and most seasonal products to produce fantastic food. A real foodie treat.

Nice setting - relaxed and informal in this lovely former railway shed. Due to the daily changing menu (ingredients sourced from the Goods Shed Market in which this lovely find is located) the experience is always a surprise and something of a delight - Sunday lunch with family yesterday turned up some superb dishes - lamb 3 ways, chicken, wild... As a vegetarian it is so nice to be offered something really different to eat. I visited today with my parents and one year old. We had a great table set up with a highchair and were served promptly. We each had starters, mains and desserts (the pudding platter was the highlight!) and everything was fresh and delicious! We will... More

We took a brilliant short break in Canterbury in November and booked this restaurant beforehand, prompted by TA reviews. Following the first meal, which was such a good experience, we booked again for our final night. Eating in this space reminds me of beautiful food enjoyed in informal settings in Australia. This is not about 'fine dining' in that starchy... More
