Good spur of the moment choice

Looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday night we stumbled across the Goods Shed and thought we'd try the restaurant. Very glad we did, the food was lovely and fresh and the staff all very pleasant. Would definitely recommend but understand it can get quiet busy.

We were going to try the Wild Goose in the Goods Shed but when we saw it I realised I could not perch up on a bar stool so we chose Rafael's also in the Goods Shed building. The service was very prompt and friendly. The waitress was very reassuring about letting the chef know about my nut allergy. She... More

Went here for lunch today. There's a car park outside and it's almost attached to Canterbury West station in an old goods shed. One walks through the tempting farmers market and Rafael's in on an elevated platform overlooking the market. The menu changes daily and is pleasingly limited. Service was fine and our meal was very nice: herring with capers... More

Fantastic meal. How food should be cooked. Simple recipes with fresh ingredients make for fantastic flavours. Great and original local drinks to.

I have eaten here many times. Unfortunately on this occasion the experience was not up to the usual high standard. The starters were excellent but the mains less so. Both the steaks were on the well done side of medium despite asking for rare and the hake was overcooked. I would of complained but my daughter, whose birthday it was,... More

My Partner Shelagh and mewere in Canterbury near the Goods Shed so popped in for some food shopping. All local produce of great quality. Especially a little wine tasting with the Wine Expert Clive Barlow of Press Wine Services and the Canterbury Wine School. A master of wine and good friend of ours who finds great wines. Then to try... More

What a stunning place - a very special place which you MUST try! It was written up in the Telegraph this last Saturday & that is usually a good guide! On this occasion it was DEFINITELY a good guide! You just need to experience it to get it! Trust me, if you have taste & you like simple, but special,... More

The Goods Shed has always been my favourite place to go for breakfast, sitting watching the world go by, captivated by the hustle & bustle of the the wonderful market & various stalls all around the restaurant within the Good Shed. It is the perfect place to take visitors to show off the amazing products and quirkiness of environments that... More
