Wonderful coffee and great food

I like this place . It has teapig teas and great coffee and cakes and is a great place to wait and take the punting boat from. But today they let themselves down. We walked in at 5.35 and were told we could only have takeaway ..I don't like tea in paper cups it's disgusting but I needed a hot... More

Great café with professional team that take the utmost care. The coffee beans used change frequently and are all very carefully chosen to produce a superb brew superior in every way to the high street chains. The place has a range of seating to suit all requirements and the atmosphere is relaxed. Make sure you visit soon - but you... More

Must be getting old - each time I'm without kids with my husband and we go to a cafe, I find myself asking if we can avoid chains. For this reason, we visited Water Lane. As we were waiting for our lattes (and it was 10 minutes or so, and not that busy), I had a look at the Trip... More

We had been wanting to experience this coffee house for a while, as we prefer to go to the independent coffee houses in Canterbury. However, we were extremely disappointed. When we arrived we were ignored even though we were the only customers waiting. We then recived one drink 20 minutes before receiving the other coffee. I asked for sugar and... More

Sad to say I am a coffee snob, but Water Lane coffee does among the best I have ever had anywhere. Really good, rich flavour; just my cup of tea, so to speak. There has only been coffee and cakes available each time I have been (maybe 15 times in the past 6 months) but thats fine by me. Quite... More

Made a change from the chains of coffee houses littering the centre of Canterbury. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Coffee was good although on the small size.

After a river tour (definitely recommend if you are visiting Canterbury or are a local) pop into Water Lane Coffeehouse for a coffee. They serve the best!
