Hubby and I have visited this coffee shop many times, and always have a lovely cup of coffee BUT! We visited on Friday and there were 3 staff behind the counter, matched by 3 customers, all of whom had been served. We waited 15-20 minutes for our lukewarm coffee, which was lovely, but we both like hot coffee. Now, I... More

I can now understand what previous reviewers have meant when they said staff don't understand standard coffee styles like cappuccino, macchiato etc and just point at cups measured in ounces - that's no help at all when normal measurements are in millilitres anyway and you never, ever, order coffee by the ounce. One staff member understood what a macchiato was,... More

This is a small coffee house next to the canterbury punting company. The coffee was tasty but not too hot, I like my coffee piping hot. The staff were friendly and fun, a good atmosphere, we waited here before we went for a punt. There is 1 toilet which was clean and well stocked Cakes were also available although we... More

I drop by Water Lane quite often and will regularly go out of my way to come here. The guys who work here know what they are talking about, they are passionate and experts. I've even had advice on my personal coffee machine at home. The price is very good and the snacks are generous and filling. Still finishing the... More

Fantastic place to go for morning/afternoon coffee or tea in a charming and quieter part of town. Very friendly staff, artsy surroundings, great music playing, perfect for chilling out alone or with friends. Definitely recommend trying the cakes and pastries if you have a sweet tooth. An absolute must when visiting Canterbury!

We waited here for our river tour... just had a cup of tea but it was very friendly... the sort of place where people came in to have a chat or just read a book. Comfortable place

I love coffee and am even building a site purely for people to find it. So I have been to some really good places for coffee. At Waterlane, you will find seriously good coffee. That's all that needs to be said

This place is a must visit!!! I was served by Luke, who took the time to talk through the options available. As a coffee lover it was so refreshing to be able to choose a blend! The place itself although small is quaint, and lovely. The service was fantastic and the price is purse friendly! I'll be coming back!!!!

It's fair to say I am a coffee lover and wherever I am in the world I try to hunt down the best. In Kent, the best is easily at Waterlane. Incredibly knowledgable staff that are proud if the top quality product they provide. Delicious, seasonal snacks accompany the delicate filter coffees and punchy espressos on offer. The setting by...
