food is freshly cooked and always of great quality. Consistently good food and service and well priced. The staff are great and very welcoming and friendly, always happy to say hello and have a chat. I have been visiting here for the past 10 years now. Highly recommended to anyone who visits the area. In the summer time there might... More

I used to visit this fish & chip shop whenever I was in town & had heard it had gone downhill. I tried yesterday & was upset to get a half cooked portion of chips & a battered sausage that was 70% batter (sausage no bigger than a tinned hot dog sausage). I hope the previous quality returns soon.

Very good Fish and Chip Shop in the centre of Canterbury,we had some really good chips with chicken and mushroom pie, sausage in batter and chicken nuggets. There are table and chairs outside if the weather is ok.

They have external tables and they are a very good option to eat and see people passing by. However, the fish and chips wasn't all that I was expecting, since the fish was a little greasy. In general, worth the visit :)

The City Fish bar has been in Canterbury nearly as long as the cathedral - nice guys with decent grub, what's not to like?!

Being an English couple living in Holland we're always searching for some good fish & chips when we get to the UK, ( it's a taste down memory lane for us) staying in Canterbury we'd decided to try some restaurants for this but some seemed to serve frozen chips so we were delighted when we found this small but friendly... The five of us bought lunch there. A majority deemed the fish and chips very good, but not all of us felt that way. Not great for carry out as the chips get really soft when packed, with grease pouring through the paper wrapping...

The queue snaking down the street says it all - great fish and chips which you can take away or eat on the tables on the pavement. It's not high class but it is high quality.

Live in Dover and don't go to Canterbury much but when we do we always get chips from here. Never sat at the chippie before but there was an empty table today so stopped for a break from shopping. Both had medium chips and sausage. Chip portion was small for a medium and not the cheapest around. However, food always... More

I've been here for lunch and for a snack - the fish & chips portion was huge and I think priced fairly for the amount you get. To me, all fish & chips in Canterbury/Whitstable are good and taste the same, so maybe I'm just not a fish & chips connoisseur? Another visit, I wanted to see if they had... More
