Excellent service

This is the first Fish and Chip shop that I've been to that the staff ask if you have everything and anything they can help with once seated outside, they cleared our table of the used cartons etc. price wise it was £20 for fish, chips, peas and two bottle of pop, which wasn't bad at all... read more

We always go to the City Fish Bar when we're in Canterbury. The chips are excellent, I'm a veggie but my family tell me that the battered cod is the best they've tasted. The service is the best, with Peter and his team always friendly and welcoming...go and visit them, you won't regret it.

While walking around Canterbury, I noticed people with paper cones full of chips (French fries to us Americans). As I got closer to city center, I was able to figure out where the cones were coming from. The odor of frying fish and chips narrowed my search down further. City Fish Bar is mostly a take out food shop but... More

Walked past while strolling the streets of Canterbury and stopped in for an open cone of sausage and chips and battered mushrooms to share. It was quick service and the food was well cooked and tasty, you can't ask for better.

Eaten here many times, have never been dissapointed, always have had the fish and chips, cooked to perfection every time. Great staff, have a joke and chat, don't mention football though, it could get a bit boistrious !! Of course there is a very varied menu on offer, every thing from calamari to deep fried Mars Bars ! I went here with my mum, nan and little brother and the service you get is exceptional. Even though they are a little fish bar they serve with a smile and make everyone feel welcome, you instantly feel like you know them because they engage in general chit chat with you. The area was clean no rubbish anywhere! The food... More

We were making our way through Canterbury and decided to stop and try their fish and chips. We had to say that we tried it at least once during our visit to England. The portion of fish was generous and it was very tasty though I do agree it was a bit on the greasy side... But that is to... More

Ate here enticed by smell on way to eat elsewhere. Wish we hadn't. Food very greasy, chips seemed a bit undercooked, and I felt quite unwell afterwards. Still feeling a bit sick the next day.
