My husband and I recently spent a week in Canterbury and thoroughly enjoyed spending many of our lunchtimes in this pretty old world pub. The food was very good and filling ( good portion sizes) loved the pies, served by attentive friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you.The garden area was lovely and ideal for young children. We will be visiting... This pub could do so well if only it was in the correct hands. Sadly shepherd neame have hold of it meaning extortionate prices, and the current tenant not doing much good to it either! The food is average pub food, expensive prices. The so called home made pies seem very much like they have been bought in! This is... More

We booked a table here for 10 people for a birthday celebration. The guy who runs this place is really friendly and enthusiastic (in a good way!).He's recently taken over the running of it and you can tell he really enjoys it. We had lovely food, with a special mention for the gorgeous home made pies. Lovely beer garden and... More

What a find, a gorgeous old inn that does amazing food, with a huge beer garden, child and dog friendly in a quiet but picturesque part of the city. I and my friends loved it here. Perfect spot for a lazy Sunday birthday lunch. Big thank you to the staff, we will return!

Friendly young barman, bright spacious pub, we visited on a Monday lunchtime and it was fairly quiet. The food consisted of the usual pub fare and was good rather than exceptional. I had the steak and ale pie with vegetables, followed by good cheese board all at a reasonable price. Decent red wine by the glass and the coffee was particulary good.... More

Shepherd Neame pub off the beaten track. Large, green and pleasant if unremarkable beer garden - pub claims it is the largest in Canterbury, and this may well be true. As the pub is away from the centre, and is quite roomy, getting a table doesn't appear to be a problem. The beer garden is next to a green, so... More

Travelling with a group of friends cycling from Paris to Nottingham, we needed a dog friendly pub close to our route. This place was chosen by friends who wanted to meet our team and all I can say is what great taste they have. The White Hart were so welcoming to us all and our dogs, the food was good... More

We were looking for somewhere for lunch that was dog friendly and served good food. This place ticked both boxes. Firstly, we were given a very warm welcome. A young man called David found us a table near the fire and chatted to us about our stay in Canterbury. He was extremely friendly, helpful and yet not intrusive in any... More
