A wonderful pub I discovered just minutes away from the center of town. Full of original features including a lovely open fire (as I have happily experinced in the winter!). This pub is the only pub I go to when in canterbury, it is so friendly, I recently had the chance to enjoy the lovely beer garden, this pub is... More

despite the lovely garden and acceptable food we found the bar staff surly. We were kept waiting several minutes while they re-stocked shelves and generally pottered around before being served. The new management seem to think they are running a multi-national rather than a small pub, keeping existing clients with a genuine warm welcome would be a good start. Otherwise... More

a lovely pub, found just on the outskirts of the high street. Stopped by for lunch an excellent find! Staff could not be more welcoming with a lovely open fire on a very cold Good Friday, just what we needed.Food was outstanding the pies especially . Will defo be recommending to friends.

A wonderful little English village pub with fine food and wines. The Sunday roast specials were Roast Gammon and Roast Beef. We were expecting basic pub fare and were really surprised at both the presentation and the quality of the roasts the meat glazes, gravies vegetable side dishes and Yorkshire-style pudding. Save room for dessert! Give them a try. They... More

This is a wonderful, welcoming pub in Canterbury, with a great menu and atmosphere. best thing for us was that dogs are really welcome there. We will hope to be able to return soon.

We have seen the pub before and after the new management arrived and the change to the place has really made the pub feel much more welcoming. The food and drink was great and the staff were very friendly and organised. The new menu even left some of us not being able to decide what to have to eat. ALL... More

We went in for a quick bite and after having two of the pubs signature pies were very happy with the food. The service was quick and efficient, the staff were very welcoming and the food was outstanding. The pie was like nothing i have had before, they have definately made a local out of me. would recommend it to... More

Visited on the third day under new management and amazed at the difference! My husband and myself dropped in for a quick lunch of their homemade pies and veg, and it was without a doubt the best pub lunch I have had in Canterbury since moving here. If you can over look the grumpy old man behind the bar, the... More

A bit patch over the past few years. Food can be okay. Beer can be a bit so-so. Service is also patchy. Atmosphere can be good on a busy evening or flat at other times. Garden is good in centre of town but can be a bit dirty at times. But it's a real pub in the centre of Canterbury,... More
