Last minute evening meal

We had a delightful meal here with friendly service, although the place is a little off the beaten track there is a large public car park a small walk away. With the recent purchase of my Taste card it means we are choosing our meal venues based on the card acceptance. The meal we had was... read more

Another of Canterbury's fine eating establishments. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and comfortable when you walk in, no thumping music or children racing around. So an enjoyable meal in piece was ahead of us, and it most certainly was more than enjoyable. Their is nothing that can be faulted with the Parrot at all, great staff, fantastic food, perfect atmosphere... More

Great atmosphere in the outdoor courtyard in the summer, spent many hours out here! Equally great indoors in the winter by the log fire. The food is also very good, pub food yes, but very good!

Me and my friends regularly visit this hotel perfect on week day nights for some good food and also you can use the tastecard here so that makes it even more inviting. Staff could be a little happier but overall great experience.

We visited over Christmas and as usual it is a beautiful building but the atmosphere is lacking. This should never have been taken over by Shepherd Neame and the cider sacrificed in the name of various beers, all made by virtually all the same brewer. The original furniture was replaced and it just seems to by an aging 'Harvester' these... More

Didn't eat this time, just a lovely olde worlde charm and atmosphere with great beer. Staff were friendly. Nice open fire going, must be one of the best pubs in Canterbury?

We had lunch with a group of friends on the run up to Christmas and the food was absolutely excellent. To cap it all the serving staff were attentive and friendly. This pub/ restaurant is within easy walking distance of Canterbury town centre but is tucked away in a quiet street that a lot of people would never see. The... More

Historic pub dating back to times Chaucer was actually writing the Canterbury Tales. Good food and great dessert.

Barmaid was aggressive and horrible to us from the beginning. She said there were no tables available, then said we could sit at a small table. Throughout the two hours we sat surrounded by empty tables. She carried on being horrible to us, she was really, really odd. The food was mediocre at best. £6.95 for one skinny sausage cut... More
