Good value and a friendly pub

Had a few meals here during a recent stay In Canterbury and loved the place. Food was good and good prices, did take quite a while to get served. It's a nice friendly place with a nice atmosphere in a timbered building which adds to the charm. Would return

We were 6 and 3 of us ordered fish fingers. It was not as traditional as in the town center but it was very delicious. Hamburgers were very big as the types who most hungries want. Desserts were also very tasty. But a bit expensive then other ones in canterburry.

I came here with a large group- we had hired out the banquet hall upstairs and ordered our food in advance. Service was very fast and the waiting staff were very friendly. The pub is fancy but has a homely feel to it. The food was incredible. Serving sizes were large and the food was presented beautifully. I had the... More

We attended the parrot on valentines, as a double date. The pub looks amazing and feels warm and homely. We were quickly shown to the perfect table in the corner by the fire. The wine menu was extensive and had helpful descriptions. We chose a sparkling rose champagne sort of thing it was great. The starter, meal and desert came... More

Visited last Saturday lunchtime and thankfully managed to get the last available table. Its a lovely pub with great food and ales and the service we received was excellent. Will definitely visit again and sample the full evening menu.

I went there on the 8Th March for my daughters birthday and not very impressed, We waited ages the staff did not seem to know what they were doing or what they were serving. One witness lifted the bun on my grandson burger to see which one it was. I had a prawn started which was suppose to have advocado... More

This is a high risk place if you attend in a group. I think they ask for pre ordered food and prepare it in advance and then microwave it at point of service. I have avoided the Parrot for the last few years. I went before with a big group and was served towards the end of table with a... More

You can't fault the Parrot for Sunday lunch but book early to avoid disappointment should the roast of your choice run out ! Very popular with a busy lunch service with friendly staff if you're very hungry go for one of their burgers! On this occasion had squid starter which was not up to its usual standard was tasty but... More

My partner and I wanted to try somewhere a bit different and I found this place through Trip Advisor. Lovely old pub, instantly welcoming with ample space. The menu was varied and we settled for a 'Sizzler' each for our mains, I went with Garlic & Rosemary chicken and my partner went for Pulled Pork. Both came out very well... More
