Avoid for Your Health

This is a high risk place if you attend in a group. I think they ask for pre ordered food and prepare it in advance and then microwave it at point of service. I have avoided the Parrot for the last few years. I went before with a big group and was served towards the end of table with a... read more

You can't fault the Parrot for Sunday lunch but book early to avoid disappointment should the roast of your choice run out ! Very popular with a busy lunch service with friendly staff if you're very hungry go for one of their burgers! On this occasion had squid starter which was not up to its usual standard was tasty but... More

I live in the centre of Canterbury and The Parrot is my local - hence the title of this review. If you live in, or are visiting, the city I would wholely recommend visiting this historic public house. If you are into your history you will love the building, if you are into your food you will love the menu... More

Booked for Saturday night meal with friends. On arrival pub was really busy, but we were led upstairs to a quieter dining area, and were seated in front of a lovely wood burner that was topped up throughout our evening. The service was faultless by the young staff, they really made us welcome and didn't mind at all when we... More

A lovely dinner for a group of 6 on a Sunday, we were lucky to get a table as it was busy however we had rang earlier in the morning enquiring about that day's lunch and was never told to book. The food was of great standard and the portions were extremely large. However when I looked at my receipt... More

Wow hardly able to walk out. An excellent venue, lovely pub and fantastic dining room upstairs, gorgeous high beamed banquet hall. Food was excellent, pulled pork starter was terrific. We both had burgers- chicken club and the huge bishops mitre. Treated ourselves to the 'must have' gypsy tart very good. All in all an excellent meal will not disappoint.

We had a wonderful time at The Parrot for our Christmas dinner. The Christmas decorations were quite sparse even though it was 21/12. We all enjoyed our meals which weren't indifferent from their regular menu, it is a cosy and cute pub nestled in the back streets of Canterbury with bags of character and a good wind selection to match.... We've had meals at The Parrot several times now - we've never been disappointed once. The service is really good too despite it getting quite hectic at times. Fantastic to stop by for a drink as well.

This was our favourite pub in Canterbury. A deliciously warm fire and nice decor, decent selection of ales, friendly and helpful bartender.. Exactly what we wanted for a Saturday afternoon!
