Called in with a colleague to have lunch at this lovely restaurant. The food was perfect, and beautifully presented. I had liver and bacon and my colleague had the fish pie. Good choice of wine and the music wasn't too intrusive. The staff were really friendly and attentive and remembered I had been before- which made us feel very welcome.... More

We had a day out to Canterbury and decided to have lunch at the Parrot. My crispy pork belly was more fat than anything else and the mash tasted as if it was left over from yesterday. To top it all off, it was all cold. The service was indifferent and not really interested in how we had found our... More

Ate there yesterday can not fault we had bread olives and oil to start with. Then my husband had pork belly and I had spinach and goats cheese pancakes. Both were really tasty and good portions. I had two large glasses of wine and my husband a soft drink. My husband also had a apple crumble for pudding. This all... More

I love the Parrot! It has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, cosy interior and great outdoor garden for drinks in the summer. The menu offers a range of reasonably priced interesting options and the Sunday roast is a treat.

Do not miss a visit the Parrot's back garden refuge. The Parrot is easily missed, down an alley, so keep your eyes open. There is a lovely eating area tucked away in the back of the pub. Sit down, order a pint or a glass of vino and marvel at how serene and secluded your location is, a nice respite... More

Tucked away in the northern quarter of Canterbury you will find this fabulous pub/restaurant. the building dates back to the 13th Century and has much, if not all, of its original features. Plenty of inside seating but on a good day, as it was on this one, make use of the ample garden seating to the rear of the building.... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal here with family. The nachos starter was big enough for two. Three out of a group of six had "sizzlers" which were very tasty. Although the large wooden rectangular "plate" was difficult to accommodate on the table with two others plus three "normal" plates. Food was tasty, service very good. Prosecco was screw top and we... My wife and I wanted a meal out last week and chose the 14th Century pub (The Parrot) as we had been before and had a good time with friends one lunchtime. This time we were two and had booked a table for two at 7.00 pm. The service was exemplary - the waiter/manager explained how they had been extremely... More

Lunch today at The Parrot - specials board offering traditional 'moules' in white wine or in cider with bacon. Ordered a portion of each - two large bowls of big piping hot muscles arrived with plenty of bread to mop up the sumptuous juices. Beautifully cooked and full of the flavour of the sea - at around £11 per person,... More

I was impressed by the quality of the pub food here, the options on the menu were interesting and different to your typical pub menus.
