Wholesome food at a reasonable price

Five of us met for lunch on a busy Thursday during the half-term holiday. Because it is quite small, we went early, just after twelve o'clock, which was a wise move as it very quickly filled up. The clientele was varied and most had clearly eaten there before. There is quite a small menu which is... read more

Have been coming here for years, and it's always a treat to be looked forward to after wandering around the streets of Canterbury. This cafe is tucked away in one of the back streets off the main high street and has a lovely calm and relaxed atmosphere. The food is varied and wholesome and most importantly, tastes great. I particularly... More

It was a fantastic little treat to go up for a early lunch, My mum had a tomato and olive pate with fresh bread, my dad had homemade hummus with pitta, and I had dairy free soya ice cream. My GODS! it was all so perfect yet simple!!! I really enjoyed it, so much. wish I lived locally so I... More

We are a family of four, with one of our Daughters at Kent University. ( hence the visit ) As a Vegetarian family this was a real gem of a find, to be able to choose anything from the varied Menu without having to question the ingredients was lovely. We ate here twice, the atmosphere was lovely, the staff very... More

My friend and I arrived just before the restaurant was about to close but the gentleman said it was no problem for us to eat from the snack menu. We ordered the snack platter, the noodle pot and the couscous jar. The restaurant itself had a homely feel, and I can imagine that had we have been earlier, the atmosphere... More

Shared a great vegetarian lunch with a friend away from the hustle of the main street. Relaxed, friendly and attentive staff.

Came here for cake for my birthday (not easy to get dairy& gluten free cake!) Excellent efficient service. Vegan & DF chocolat cheesecake was yum! Near the end it was a bit bitter. Lucky I had the best dairy free hot choc. Yummy ! Very busy cool restaurant. Has lots of healthy DF or GF options. Should make GF bread... More

I ate lunch here today and it made me feel happy. I am vegetarian. Food is fresh and freshly prepared. Food combinations are imaginative but straightforward. Taste is paramount. I had soup, bread and salad. Excellent tastes and textures. Food made with love and served by friendly and communicative staff members. The atmosphere of the room was warm and welcoming.... More

One of the best places for lunch in Canterbury, healthy, hearty and tastes wonderful. There is a nice atmosphere and the cakes and puddings are to die for. One of only two cafes I go to in Canterbury.

My wife suggested that I treat her to a lunch here. I'm not vegetarian but don't mind trying different things. The wife is more complicated as she has dietary requirements as well, which sometimes can be very frustrating to sort out if we are popping in anywhere. We had to wait for a table (the shop downstairs was very handy)... More
