We ate here on two evenings during our four day stay in Canterbury. On both occasions the food was splendid and the service faultless. On our first visit our table was rather close to the piano, and the music - though cheerful and beautifully played - was slightly overwhelming. When we booked our second visit we asked to be further... More

We had lunch whilst here for the day on the recommendation of my sister in law who lives on Canterbury. We were greeted by a friendly smiling face and shown to our table walking past a smiling piano player who played constantly during our lunch with only a 10 minute break! We had the set lunch which was great value.... More

We had a really good meal for six people, excellent wines and friendly service. The location is perfect - in a historic pedestrianised street very close to the Cathedral.

We booked a table here as the reviews indicated that it was a good place to eat our experience must have been the exception to the rule! The staff were good and attentive but oh dear the food!!! Three of us had the set menu my main course was probably the worst haddock and chips I have ever had, dry... More

Booked a meal, prior to going to the Marlowe Theatre, and was surprised how many seats on the premises. What a superb menu. Beef, pork lamb and much more, with excellent starters. Try the mackerel starter and the salmon and beetroot starter, not only were they delicious, they were also a work of art on the plate. The mains were... More

a beautiful summers day, sitting outside in a cobbled street watching the world go by. The food was first class as was the service. Can often be 'second class' sitting outside (especially with the dogs) but not here - thank you. Fixed prix menu was plentiful & good value too. There are so many eateries that we picked this one... Delicious food, fine atmosphere and kind, attentive service for our group of 10. Never a cross face even when we requested separate bills.

First time at Deesons. Lovely food and good selection available. Reasonable price for the quality of the meal. Staff were attentive and had good knowledge of the menu. Looking forward to going again.

Having read several other reviews, for once I agree with the good and bad ones. We tried to eat on our first night in the city, to be told they were fully booked. As it looked Ok we decided to try and book for the next night. No luck. So we booked for the Sunday Night, but were told that... More
