We ate at this restaurant while in Canterbury this month because of the high ratings received on Tripadvisor. We had a bottle of Malbec wine that was very nice and not badly priced. Our mean consisted of 1 herb crusted cod and 1 loin of beef. The cod came with some mussels in the bowl. However the mussels were gritty... More

Party of 7, all delighted with the quality and variety of the food with excellent attentive service. Chose beer instead of wine and the range was all local brews, excellent. Would certainly recommend it and would go again

We have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The set lunch menu is good and excellent value for money. Deesons has a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient. We had lunch there yesterday as they have recently changed the set lunch menu - or at least the vegetarian option. The... More

We went to this restaurant because we fancied traditional English food. We ordered from the set menu at a cost of £17.00 for three courses. The wrong food was delivered for three out of the four starters but after waiting and being hungry we ate it anyway. The bread that arrived with one of the starters was so hard it... More

This is a very high quality restaurant in a good area just off the city centre.Eating out early and lucky to get a table as fully booked thereafter. An excellent ambience and ordering solely sparkling water we saw their friendly and high quality of service as many restaurants turn their noses up if you do not order the alcohol on... More

I have wanted to eat at deesons for years, given the reviews. However, the food was slightly over seasoned and rich when I ate there. Otherwise, a lovely blend of flavours. The decor is beautiful and the service was fantastic.

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived having made our reservation online. The service and the food was great. It could have been over the top with many different flavours, but the combinations worked well. The service was good. Both of us had one of our best ever meals that night and we hope to return again one day. Since... More

Booked a private room for 14 to celebrate our daughter's Graduation. Ate from the Pre-Theatre menu which offered a 4 choices for each course. Everyone enjoyed the food and we found the wine reasonably priced too. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and discreetly attentive. We will definitely be returning.

We have visited Deesons on numerous occasions and have never had a bad meal. Unfortunately it appears to have gone down hill recently. I'm not sure if it's because the owner is now concentrating on his new venture pork and co or we just went on a bad day? Between the four of us we had mediocre starters and mains.... More
