My mother and I were shopping in Canterbury and wanted a good hearty meal, but didn't want to go to any touristy places to eat. We had eaten here before and had a great meal. This time, the place was quiet and we selected from the menu, home made steak pie. It was gorgeous. Stuffed full of good quality beef,... More

We almost did not stay as there were very few people there at 7 pm on a Saturday night but it was recommended by our hotel. We were put off by all the almost dead flowers in dingy water on all of the tables but we stayed as it had been a long day and we did not feel like... More

The perfect pub visit for a foodie! I've had the roast, which is to die for. Also, I would strongly recommend the Becket burger. Melt in your beef with toppings of your choice! Really good beers as well. Staff very friendly!

On a Sunday for lunch... In a cold but sunny day .... Great typical food in a very nice location....! Free wi fi and kind staff....! The service was a little bit slow.... But we were not in hurry!

Over 7 years in our visits to Canterbury we have eaten in the Thomas Becket about 15 times. The experience has always been enjoyable with just a few lapses from time to time in quality and service.. Our most recent visit, however, will be sadly our last. This has nothing to do with our friendly waitress Hannah who battled against... More

New menu and what an improvement!! A great range of meals for all tastes and a tempting selection of sides. I chose the Becket burger and what a good choice, a home made patty cooked perfectly with bacon and Cheddar and served with chips with skins and onion rings. Delicious. Try it for yourselves.

A group of 6 friends went to this pub one night and all of us were really happy with our food and with the service. We had a very helpful and friendly waitress who took great care of us, and she let us do separate checks which isn’t always the easiest thing in a pub. I had a chicken and... More

We stood at the bar while one member of staff walked off to the back and another walked across to the blackboard to start writing busily. The chef popped out from the kitchen for a quick look then popped back. After five minutes we left.
