Sunday lunch this time, four adults, two teenagers. The Foragers has a pleasant, convivial, buzzy but not over noisy atmosphere, the food is as excellent as usual: melting and generous roast beef, unusual and wonderfully tasteful smoked salmon, locally sourced and opulent pigeon followed by decadent desserts. Service, again as before, was friendly without being familiar and as efficient as... More

I had pulled Venison and my wife had Pheasant, both were very enjoyable, yet another delicious meal, and good service.

Last time I ate here I gave it a 5 which for me has to be an exceptional experience. This time it fell a little short. On booking the table the staff failed to explain firstly, that we would be the only table that wasn't on a Christmas party, and that the menu was themed. This reduced the choice menu... More

Had a great meal at The Foragers - a restaurant where many of the ingredients are foraged from the local countryside (seasonal). They even do walks where you can forage and cook. But we just went for the meal. It was heaving with a really great atmosphere. Luckily we had booked - you have to at busy periods. The meal... More

Only eaten here a few times but each meal was absolutely delicious. I like how the midweek menu is set & often has game on offer plus the ethos of only using foraged / locally sourced food is really makes it seem that much more of a dining experience. It's difficult to praise specific dishes as they're always changing but... More

Whether or not the place has gastropub plastered all over it, this is the uncertain territory the food here is aiming at. And judging by the grouse I ordered, they're the genuine article - everything went together well, and tasted delicious. So many use fancy menus as an excuse to jack up the prices for what turns out to be... More

A group of seven of us visited the Verulam Arms on the 20/11/14 after a friends recommendation. The staff were all dressed well and the atmosphere was warm and friendly with a local pub feel. The foragers specialises in game which to be quite honest I'm not much of a fan. We all chose the choice of starter and main... More

This is the third time that I have been to the Foragers. I really want to give it top marks. The pub is lovely, it serves a good selection of ales, staff are friendly and the menu always looks interesting. However, I always find the food lacking a bit of flavour. Still overall, worth visit.

We went here recently for our wedding anniversary and we were really looking forward to coming back as we have been a few times. While the food was delicious (venison at £22 each) the portion size was ridiculously small especially the vegetables. Literally 1 half of a potato on a plate, 2 small sprigs of broccoli as well as the... More

Great food, lovely flavours and imaginative use of seasonal and wild ingredients one sunday lunchtime. Waiting staff attentive but not intrusive , good background music , nice atmosphere, and they even moved us to a better table near the fire to accommodate outr dog. Lovely .
