Thank you for a wonderful few hours of foraging and delicious food...it's a great concept for a restaurant, and we're looking forward to visiting again to see what the countryside has to offer next month!

Lovely beer, efficient service, a nice layout and food served with dandelions, themselves accompanied by a real, happy, wholesome insect making its way around my plate. No need to complain - this is a GOOD thing. This is foraged food at its best. And by gum it tasted good (not the caterpillar, I let that go).

Been here several times now, for Sunday lunch, dinner, and also held our silver wedding anniversary party here in June for 60 people. If you are going to have a party in St Albans, do consider holding at the Foragers - George, Allan and the crew are extremely hospitable, helpful, friendly and efficient - they let us take over almost... Despite living very close to this pub this was our first visit and we soon realised what we had been missing. We choose a Sunday lunchtime for our first experience and were very pleased with the outcome. A good choice of real ales and cider set the scene for an exceptionally well prepared, tasty, and flavoursome lunch. The Roast pork... More

I went here for a drink with a group of girlfriends. It was a lovely evening we sat out in the beautifully lit garden...but they ran out of wine... Seriously. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind. Needless to say we went elsewhere.

This is a fab pub, lively atmosphere, amazing food and cool staff. We had a range of dishes, unusual, very tasty and beautifully prepared. Prices are more like restaurant than pub, but then the experience is also more restaurant than pub, highly recommended.

The menu offers more choice at the weekend but the set menu on a recent Tuesday evening offered us interesting choices and was very good value. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Starters of air dried beef with truffle and hazelnuts, trout with horseradish and a summer vegetable soup were very good. Lamb with roast beetroot was excellent and well... More

This is a lovely little venue in the back streets of St Albans. We popped in for a drink but as a table was available decided to stay for food as I have been wanting to eat here for a while. I love the concept of wild foraging for ingredients and the blackboard on the wall details what has been... More

Purely reviewing the food here. Went on a Saturday night and we only had time for one course due to big booking in half of the restaurant. Had been heavily recommended thus I was surprised we walked in at 8pm on a Saturday night and got a table. Impressive, limited menu which was re-assuring. Friendly and efficient waiting staff. Things... More

The Foragers used to be a pub and has been very tastefully done up. The concept is the food contains some ingredients that have been foraged, primarily herbs. I had the pigeon to start, which was cooked to perfection, slightly pink in the middle, moist and delicious. This was followed by the vegetarian risotto, which was superb. It contained an... More
