Wild food - a foraged lunch

We were intrigued by the fact that the chefs forage their ingredients locally, and we weren't disappointed by the results. Our starter of salmon cured in knotweed gin and served with a British 'wasabi' made of wild horseradish and ladies smock was delicious. A slab of slow cooked pork (hog) belly... read more

Good welcome, pleasant informative staff, delicious food and good pricing. We had one roast beef dish and one belly pork dish, the vegetables were very special. The rhubarb desert was a great way to finish the meal.

We had a great time at the Foragers. Some of the best food that I have had in any restaurant in St Albans (and ive been to most). Some really exciting dishes that you would struggle to fault. Go there but don't book my table!!

Just last night I visited The Foragers for a what I was expecting to be a traditional, half decent pub meal washed down welcomingly with a couple of pale ales. My how I was wrong! I have to say that the food I experienced was bar non the best I have eaten in any pub anywhere and I will certainly... More

Everything a great local should be. Love the garden in the summer and their foraging walks are incredible!

I was taken to the foregers for a Mother's Day treat, the pub it's self is cosy with a nice atmospher, the staff are friendly although a little forgetful the food is ot to everyone's taste as it is very different, hence the name, my fussy daughter did not take a fancy to anything on the menu, this wasn't a... We've been going to The Verulam Arms in all its incarnations since the 1980s, from the days of the legendary James and Ulli Lennon through to Sean late of The Boot; it's always been a great local pub in the St. Albans Conservation Area. Now reincarnated as The Foragers at The Verulam Arms, it should be a must for the... More

Wonderful experience. Was fantastic, had full use of all facilities including the rear garden. All of our guests were impressed and you have many converts. The food was fantastic and for the faint of heart who chose the steak, all said was best they'd had anywhere. As for the rest of us who got stuck into your speciality foragers food,... More

Good food and friendly service. Staff coped well with the needs of a 1 year old great niece. The bar environment would suit travellers with its old world feel. Keep up the good work.
