What a fantastic Sunday lunch! - the food was faultless. We had the roast beef and fish pie - both were very good. The trout starters was very original and really good. The service was friendly and very welcoming. The pub is lovely inside, my one criticism would be it was quite cold, but otherwise all round a great experience... More

My wife and I fancied a meal out on Sunday around late lunch time. We happily walked in remembering the good meal that we had last time. This time however not so good. The staff seemed to be too cool for school, more at home in a Hoxton bistro than St Albans. The service was at a snails pace. We... More

popped in for Sunday Lunch which was totally delicious and impeccably presented. The children had half portions which they thoroughly enjoyed. Great selection of unusual beverages. comfortable place to be with a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Eating out can sometimes be an issue as both my daughter and I are Gluten intolerant but we were both generously accommodated!! As... More

I visited on Sunday with my family, two members of my family are gluten intolerant, we found them very accommodating. We had the most delicious roast dinners! I can't recommend this place enough! We will definitely be coming again soon!!!

Stopped for a quick drink in a warm pub. It was a Tuesday night so not exactly busy but very welcoming. Pint of lovely Adnams and a large glass of wine. Excellent.

Ate here with a group of friends. We arrived in dribs and drabs- 7 of us but we weren't offered a drink until everyone arrived, which was about 25 minutes later, shame. The menu is small but well formed, tasty and fresh and something for everyone. The service is very relaxed, a bit too relaxed when charging the prices they... More

Gave this a bash on a Friday night and we were not disappointed. I had the red lentils and veg soup which was like a broth and very tasty. My partner tried the charcuterie board. He said it was a real eye opener. Unusual and delicious. I had the hake in a seafood broth and as I didn't like Pernod... More

Love the idea of the food coming from the woods and surrounding area, mushroom and wild herbs to give a special flavour to really tasty meals.

Went here (again) but this time for Sunday lunch with my wife and one of my daughters. I had to have a starter which was a delicious pate surrounded by marjoram butter and all sorts of wild and interesting fungi and salads surrounding it, amazing! Then we all had roast beef which was served rare and with a Yorkshire pudding... More

I was really looking forward to visiting The Foragers and wasn't disappointed by the menu, the food, the service or the atmosphere. The presentation and the taste of the food was exceptional. I particularly liked the charcuterie as a starter on the Christmas menu. I look forward to revisiting next time I go to St Albans.
