We ate here again at the weekend and enjoyed another great dining experience. The food was of the same high quality it has been on our previous visits and the staff are always very welcoming and attentive. The riverside setting is a delight and the ambiance very relaxed and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.

I thought this restaurant was totally overpriced for very average food. Starters are around £8 upwards and although look very stylish are very small and disappointing. They sound more interesting on the menu than they actually are. The main courses are again nice looking but average taste. Service was excellent but so it should be as we were the only... More

This was booked after a recommendation from some friends who had the previous week eaten in The Ivy and they said the whistling Duck was very good. High praise indeed. So, having arrived a little early we sat in the lounge area with a drink, (our own choice as we could have been shown to our table) . Having been... More

I had high expectations about this restaurant, but was let down big time. Firstly don't mention that your menu may vary due to seasonality then use asparagus in October. Then being told that there is no asparagus yet the soup of the day is asparagus! The soup was bland and was under seasoned. I had duck for main, which was... More

I was invited there for a friends special birthday one Saturday lunch time. On arriving as it was attached to the garden centre I thought I'd gone to the wrong place.! However, on arriving at the resteraunt, the staff were so very welcoming and friendly, even when we got a little noisy singing happy birthday! . The food and ambiance... More

It was like being at a Xmas office party. No atmosphere & regimented. There was just no life & appeared to be for the over 50's (no disrespect) the food wasn't A La Carte & the prices were terrible. The chips were out of a packed not even home chipped & cooked, the food bland & tasteless, the torte was... More

Not what you normally expect attached to a garden centre. Large, elegant restaurant, with numerous tables nicely laid with linen tablecloths and proper napkins. Without doubt upmarket, and a bit pricey, but worth it. The waiting staff are professional. Excellent wine list, and speciality food. Lunchtime 2 course meal £19.95 (3 courses another fiver). Grand piano in the restaurant, and... More

I wasn't sure when my husband booked this restaurant for my birthday dinner but I am so pleased he did. The interior is smart, the waiting staff polite and efficient and the food magnificent. I have already booked to go back in a few weeks time and this is now my new favourite restaurant in the area

this was my first visit and although the food was ok, the service was very poor and compared to other resteraunts the prices were very high. There are many more top end resteraunts that offer a far better experience, I don't think I will be returning in a hurry

I was initially apprehensive about this restaurant as it appeared to be part of the garden centre. I am so pleased I was persuaded otherwise as this really is an exceptional venue. The view out the back across the river is superb. The staff are very attentive and the food we ate was good. Would definitely return and happy to... More
