Great Carvery

Visited on a Monday evening. Busier than expected but plenty of room. Decided to have the Carvery, which was very good value with fresh veg. The only disappointing thing was the charge of £5.95 for 3 scoops of ice cream.

Great carvery and lovely pub, friendly staff, and nice smelling toilets! We go a lot. Nice little park for kids too and tables outside. And a bowling alley inside.

Was taken here for a Birthday Meal with family, the place was exceptionally busy as it was the weekend of the Steam Rally, had we been told this when we booked we may have reconsidered, there was another larger Birthday Party in and talking to one of them I think they were feeling much the same, they seemed to have... This place has really improved over the past couple of years. We went there last night, dinner for two The food we had was excellent - carvery and salmon, and the puddings were fantastic. Friendly helpful staff, reasonable prices, lots of ambiance and good beer. Would recommend to anyone as the best place around.

We stayed in our caravan when visiting the Much Marcle Steam Rally. On the Friday evening we were told they were fully booked but after finding a small table and easy chairs they agreed to serve us. The sirloin steak was good but no mushroom no veg apart from cress and roasted baby tomatoes. The chips were awful - dry... More

A large pub/restaurant with skittle alley. Good menu although they have taken mushrooms off the steak option ( steak ain't steak without mushroom) Food is good quality although service can occasionally be a bit slow. Good choice of real ales, ciders and lagers. Friendly staff and landlord. A good mix of locals and visiting drinkers and diners. Overall a pleasant... More

This was a return visit for lunch (12.30 pm on a Tuesday) anticipating the same satisfaction as we had experienced on a previous visit - but we ended up disappointed. The reception was friendly, the pub was clean and homely - but empty! Our order was for one rump steak and one carvery, (plus a pint of Doom Bar and... More

Very relaxed, stylish pub with good selection of Cider to keep hubby happy! Lovely staff, very friendly and welcoming, if a little too relaxed about seating their clients for timed booking. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. This was our first visit and we are pleased to say we will be returning
