The staff tried but the food let them down. Had gammon which had been very overcooked and very difficult to cut. It was accompanied by hard chips and a tiny amount of limp salad. The fried eggs were ok. The presentation was disappointing. Hope it gets better but I won't be going again.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Food was of an excellent standard as was service. Cider and wine selection second to none. We will be returning.

Called for lunch - well the carvery looked the part except for the veg. The beef looked good, however it was tough and no flavour. The cabbage was brown and dried up but the rest of the veg was OK. The gravy had no flavour at all it was just warm not hot. I expected better for the for the... More

Popped in for a carvery shortly after Christmas. We were fairly late arriving and it was a quiet midweek post Christmas. The carvery meat had clearly been under the heat lamp a long time, the chef did discard the outer cuts of beef but what remained was pretty dry. Veg too uninspiring and on soggy side. Can understand that it... More

We live 20 miles from The Walwyn and visit about once a month, usually with friends. The carvery is great value, the a la carte menu is varied and reasonably priced. The food is always delicious, fresh, hot and plentiful and we have often recommended other friends to go there. Staff behind the bar and in the restaurant are friendly... More
