My wife and I plus work colleagues and my clients, on separate occassions have dined at the Wykeham Arms from earlier this year. We have tried the lunchtime (specials at 14 pounds for 2 courses, standard) menus and also the evening (specials at 14 pounds for 2 courses, standard) menus. So we know about all the menus and what is... More

Learnt about the gin brewed in Winchester from watercress whilst drinking an excellent ale. Sat at an old school desk and read the paper.

Very English Pub with well-prepared food. Very pretty place. We had a wonderful time. Service was very good. Food is a little pricy for what you get. The food is a work of art. Please see my pictures. We went on a Thursday early evening, early.

Used to be super value with lots of old fashioned atmosphere. Atmosphere still there but value has gone, Menu sounds quite imaginative but dishes unexceptional with some attempt at presentation - poor value for money. The wine was good but barely enough to taste in a "medium" glass. Service was very slow - understaffed - and the service charge (12.5%)... More

I visited the Wykeham Arms with my friends. We hadn't been for years, so thought we would give it another try. Oh dear, it was a Birthday Celebration and it was terrible. Two of us had the Goats Cheese and Beetroot salad and it was laughable which I did actually mention to them. The portion was so small I actually... More

This truly is a delightful restaurant. From the minute you walk in the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The decor made us feel like we were stepping into the past (as in centuries ago) in a good way. We had a very enjoyable lunch here, seated at a perfect table in the back room. Everyone who worked there was exceptionally... More

We popped in for an afternoon tipple after a disappointing lunch at the Vine. Ended up staying for a couple of hours in the garden, under the huge umbrella and booking for dinner. Staff and service were great and we had a v pleasant meal - beetroot and goat's cheese and rabbit followed by rump of lamb with additional red... More

8 of us (plus a 6year old) were looking for a good evening so we called to reserve a table. Fully booked, no way it can be done. So we called 5 minutes later, twice - and successfully reserved 2 tables for 4. On arrival we asked if our two tables could sit close and hey presto a table for... More

First of all let me say the quality of the food was first class. The problem was that the portions were very small and the service was not very good. Their were four of us. Three of us had starters. I just could not believe the price I was paying (£8) for a very artistic but very small beetroot and... More
