We had a delightful lunch here in great atmosphere and it was a good find. I had a nice fish and chips and good coffee.

I visited the Wykeham Arms with my friends. We hadn't been for years, so thought we would give it another try. Oh dear, it was a Birthday Celebration and it was terrible. Two of us had the Goats Cheese and Beetroot salad and it was laughable which I did actually mention to them. The portion was so small I actually... More

This truly is a delightful restaurant. From the minute you walk in the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The decor made us feel like we were stepping into the past (as in centuries ago) in a good way. We had a very enjoyable lunch here, seated at a perfect table in the back room. Everyone who worked there was exceptionally... More

We popped in for an afternoon tipple after a disappointing lunch at the Vine. Ended up staying for a couple of hours in the garden, under the huge umbrella and booking for dinner. Staff and service were great and we had a v pleasant meal - beetroot and goat's cheese and rabbit followed by rump of lamb with additional red... More

8 of us (plus a 6year old) were looking for a good evening so we called to reserve a table. Fully booked, no way it can be done. So we called 5 minutes later, twice - and successfully reserved 2 tables for 4. On arrival we asked if our two tables could sit close and hey presto a table for... More

First of all let me say the quality of the food was first class. The problem was that the portions were very small and the service was not very good. Their were four of us. Three of us had starters. I just could not believe the price I was paying (£8) for a very artistic but very small beetroot and... More

Great pub with superb ambiance, but unfortunately the restaurant food is expensive, a little too pretentious and the portions are mean. A pity because it used to be excellent.

Excellent, if minimalist food, good friendly service - I had an excellent risotto and the pudding was delicious. Pricey - one bottle of wine, two mains and two puds = over £90.

I've been here several times over the years and the ambience is still there but the food in my opinion, is overpriced and uninspired. Fortunately they still keep real ale well. The service is good.

Crossing the threshold this unassuming pub takes you into a world were pubs were darn good, reliable and welcoming. Good beer, a decent landlord and very pleasant staff all took to our dog and we sat in the bar area to have lunch, Scallops to begin and the Wyk Pie to follow, downed with a pint of Fullers bitter, what...
