About a month ago we had Sunday roast lunch there and because we enjoyed it so much we thought we'd return last week. The staff were still friendly and helpful, the beer was great but the food was very disappointing. My wife chose the roast lamb but it contained a lot of fat (yes I know lamb is fatty but... More

Went here for a lunch on Sunday with my in-laws as they'd been before and enjoyed it. Initially, the waitress forgot some of our drinks and had to be reminded despite the pub not being busy. We had 2 starters of ham hock terrine and 1 smoked mackerel pate. Both of these were fine if a little salty. However, when... More

Lovely old pub in the best part of Winchester, just behind the Cathedral. Great food, quirky decor and friendly staff. Definitely a favourite.

The Wykeham Arms is a genuinely old pub in the heart of Winchester that did have an excellent local reputation for food as well as a warm and welcoming atmosphere for drinkers. We went to eat there because friends had a Fullers voucher for 2 main courses for 1. The menu was disappointing; heavy food I would associate with winter... More

Quirky English pub in the shadow of Winchester Cathedral. You have you food at an original school desk. Full of charm and warm. Lovely food.

We have been here several times now and we have never had a bad experience so far. The surroundings are of interest- military, local knowledge, quirky, always loads to look at. The staff are friendly and aim to please. The food- you get what you pay for. High quality and very tasty. Roast is £15 approx but full of tasty... More

We have had about six family meals at Wykeham Arms in as many years. There are two sections inside: the restaurant which must be booked in advance and the bar area where seating can often be had on spec; both serving the same menu. Only on one occasion, about three years ago, did we complain about the quality of the... More

Our visit today was very disappointing indeed mainly with regards to 2 out of 3 main courses namely: - a roast pork loin: this was a pre-cooked dish presumably being re-heated in a microwave but it was served lukewarm to cold. - 2 x duck confit salad: the dish was bland. Duck confit is fatty but in this instance it... More

Old pub with real charm in the heart of Winchester just outside the walls of Winchester College. Seats are old school desks. Favourite hang out of Winchester Colllege dons.
