superduper awesome food.

If there is one thing every group of friends wants when they go out for dinner, its great food with great wine. The Chesil offers all of that and much more. The kitchen truly excelled themselves. Thank you. Highly recommend.

If you're after the perfect Sunday lunch ( with all the trimmings ), the Chesil Rectory delivers! We were lucky enough to be sat in our own private room on the first floor. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and made us all feel welcome. Sunday lunch is served as either a 2 course or a 3 course meal... More

We visited the Chesil Rectory for a birthday surprise after trying to get in several times. The wait was definitely worth it. The service was relaxed friendly and engaging, just how we like it. All 3 courses were presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Great flavour combinations and good portion sizes mean we ordered too much but what a great problem... More

Visited the restaurant when we visited Winchester en route to New Forest. Lovely ancient building, full of character and I can see why its been named as one of the most romantic restaurants in UK! Opted for the three course lunch menu with an organic bread basket and glass of local gin/tonic :)- food was brilliant- ham hock salad starter... More

it has been sometime since I had visited this Restaurant. It is undoubtedly one of the best Restaurants in Winchester. Friendly and efficient Staff who made everyone feel special, a cosy atmosphere and of course delicious food and wine. I was particularly impressed by the Manager who went to great lengths to explain the gluten fee options for us guests.... More

The Chesil Rectory is a stunning old building, character features in abundance and it has a cosy romantic atmosphere. But for all the trimmings and bells unfortunately we found the food bland, run of the mill, overpriced and and served with a slight sniffy attitude. The desserts was the best course by a mile but oh my it was small... More

Probably eaten at chesil 12 times so far this year. It is by far the best restaurant and food around. Unlike the restaurants rated above this one, the service is impeccable, after all it's not a pub, it's a restaurant and we are reviewing restaurants. Food is locally sourced and not only does it taste so very good it has... More

After an evening of delectable food, quality wines, waiting staff who are wonderful (see other reviews and take note certain establishment owner!) we couldn't think of one thing we would change, love this place.
