My favourite restaurant in Winchester. The food is amazing and the service is always good. Great wine and cocktail list too. Friendly bar staff - especially Josh who always had time for a chat when I was staying there. Which brings me onto the rooms... WOW! A little pricey but the rooms are gorgeous. One of the best showers I've... More

Booked a table for 1730 for an early Friday dinner with our 2 year old. Arrived at 1715 to be promptly seated and offered drinks. 5 minutes later, we were told that the kitchen did not open until 1800 and presumably we had been told this when we booked. Clearly, we were not. Food, when we could finally order some,... More

Have been 3 times and each time enjoyed my meal. Excellent service and good menu. I particularly liked the mised breads wch came with a dipping spice mix, so nice i asked the chef for the menu of the ground spices. I would recommend.

Don't go. The scones were cold and dry, the sandwiches were soggy and you only get three very small pieces of cake or biscuit. The cups and plates were badly chipped. The only positive is the nice outdoors seating area. This was very disappointing and I won't be going back.

Living just about 400 yards from No5 it is a regular spot for lunch but never fails to please. The new summer menu appeared last week and alongside some regular favourites there are some new items. All ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible and cooked with care. Presentation is always good. Today I was there before 1pm so was able... More

I walked the enitre length and breadth of Winchester to settle on this restaurant. Little did I know it was part of the same small group as the The White Star in Southampton at which I took a fancy to the previous evening. I actually thought the restaurant was so good that I came back the next night - so... More

Apparently they had a private booking and couldn't honour mine. Very poor experience, won't try again.

First visit to No. 5 did not disappoint. After being tempted in by the tasty sounding menu with local produce and a no fuss attitude we decided to stop in on a Sunday night. The food really was delicious, arrived in good time and was full of flavour. Even though the Gnocchi was not available, the fact that it was... More

We stayed 1 night for room only, at £124. Breakfast would have cost extra. After a night out with another couple we all wanted to stay up and chat but once the pub was closed there was no service. Also, the room was the worse for wear: Chipped fireplace, wallpaper hanging off the wall due to earlier water ingress; and... More
