A smart and friendly bar, family friendly, clean and with a nice ambience. Around six wines by the glass which is a bonus and they serve food although we didn't have a chance to eat there so can't comment.

No5 is in a great location at the river end of the High Street in Winchester. There is a car park nearby and the town centre is 5 minutes walk, past the statue of King Alfred. The rooms were way better than we expected spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. Good and clean bathrooms. The staff were tremendous, both efficient... More

Took the opportunity to enjoy their summer garden out the back for the first time which was sun filled at lunchtime although with many wasps. They do a great menu for lunchtime with local dishes on offer, a huge variety of choice and all served in average size portions. Opted for the fish finger sandwich with skinny fries - offering... We were on our way to Dorset and found ourselves near Winchester around 5:30pm. We left M3 and only 5 minutes later were in Winchester Center and chose No.5. Very friendly and helpful staff. A good selection of food - we chose regular and 'pulled pork' burgers. Nice beer (including non-alcoholic for the drivers) and chilled Prosecco for the Prosecco... More

My husband and I spotted this restaurant whilst walking along the river in Winchester. We have an evening meal here, which was excellent. Great menu and lovely staff.

To be honest, I am surprised that this restaurant doesn't rank higher out of Winchester eateries. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. I run a social group and we needed a venue for a Summer gathering. No.5 have a private dining room, just off the courtyard, that can accommodate 18-20 for a sit-down meal, or... More

A really pleasant meal for myself and 2 discerning French colleagues. Grilled chicken was excellent, fish cake special very good and steak good but not cooked rare as requested. The free range chicken and local produce through the menu stands out as a good point. Service was a little slow as restaurant was not busy. However, the waiting staff are... More
