Called in for lunch.

We stopped here for a spot of lunch. The young lady behind the bar was very helpful and the food was good. The chef came out and apologised for the burgers not being the ones she would not normally get from suppliers as they where a bit on the small side. To compensate she added some extra bacon... read more

Ended up in here as every other eatery in Winchester was full. Menu is very limited and uninspiring. They had obviously been very busy or had forgotten to order enough because at only 1pm on a Monday lunchtime we were told there was "no mash, no burgers, no ham". Most people seemed to be opting for the fish and chips... More

Unfortunately the food was particularly poor. Jacket potatoes were uncooked in the middle, chips were bad, burger bun was soggy, chicken pieces tastes of fish. Service was also a little abrupt and not the friendliest.

Great welcome from the barman plus a beer & lovely glass of Shiraz to enjoy while we waited for our fresh ham sandwiches & watched the roast beef & several plates of fish & chips being served to our fellow customers. Looked so good we'll be back there very soon.

My wife and ate a lovely meal at this place. The food was freshly prepared and there was plenty of it. The staff are very welcoming and make you feel a valued customer. They make the place.

I have eaten here before and it was fine. This time I was interested in having the Vegetarian home made curry but wanted to know if had any dairy ingredients in it. So I asked the barman to ask the chef, he was a bit put out (there was no one else at the bar) anyway he asked, coming back... More

Booked table for post Graduation Ceremony lunch. Has look and feel of an old fashioned pub but do not be put off by this as food is superb, staff extremely helpful and service excellent. Menu choice not as extensive as some of those trendy eateries, but that said still plenty of choice plus a specials dish. We had a variety... More
