Dirty cutlery, surly staff, lousy cappuccino, floor and tables dirty, and generally in poor repair. I contacted the City's Environmental Health team after our experience. Such a shame, as it used to be great when Michel Blanc set it up.

From the outside it looked very inviting. I only stayed for drinks with mixed feelings regarding service. 1 nice waitress, 1 very rude waitress. Would choose somewhere else next time.

Really surprised by how poor our visit was today to this cafe. The tea pot was cracked, the cups were dirty, the cakes arrived well after the tea was served. The decor was was really tired and really quite strange, I don't know what the design concept was for this part of the Blanc empire but it's not a pleasant... More

Popped in for afternoon tea. Promptly led to a dirty table in a corner with little space to shuffle past a neighbouring diner. Waiting for the waitress noticed how shabby the interior was , the floor was filthy, had to sweep off the chairs. didn't stay to order. Won't be back.

With every time I come here the more disappointed I become. In waiting five mins for my friend to arrive I was asked three times if I would order food! Came for brunch, eggs were cold and I actually had to send my almond croissant back! It was dry on top and the creme pat was like rubber. These pastries... More

I popped in for a little breakfast treat and had Fabulous scrambled egg with artisan toast on the side. I have to admit to being a scrambled egg connoisseur... It was excellent. The coffee is always good in Maison Blanc. The atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly.

Visited this café on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, toast and tea for two persons. Scrambled eggs overdone, mushrooms tasted as though they were from a tin and extremely salty. Toast could have been cut by a laser as the pieces were so thin and tea which was so weak it tasted like water. The food we... More

This is an excellent example of this higher end chain. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and would not hesitate to return. We visited this restaurant on a whim: we had intended to use the establishment next door, but the initial service there was so slack (we were kept waiting and other customers who arrived after us were seated before... Nipped in on the spur of the moment one damp Saturday morning for a late breakfast with my mum. Big disappointment and won't be returning. I ordered the warm ham and cheese croissant and an orange juice and my mum had the artisan toast and a fruit tea. The drinks were both OK, but the food was poor and over... More

I was shown to a table within a minute of arrival by a lovely well kept looking waitress. I asked about the christmas themed drinks they sell. After giving me the wonderful options, i opted for the baileys coffee. It arrived in record time! Tasted delicious, the waitress was obviously very good at her job and delivered it with a... More
