We had a great lunch and great service at The Old Vine. Our starters of prawns and chorizo in garlic and chilli had just the right amount of heat to let your taste buds know about it. The main courses of lamb shank, burger and rib eye steak all tasted great. My steak turned up about 4-5 minutes later than... More

Pleasant central location in Winchester. The food is what you would expect from a pub. Service was excellent and friendly and food ok.

My girlfriend and I ate here as a couple on a Friday evening. We were very impressed with the menu, and the prawn starter was excellent. My girlfriend enjoyed the mussels for main course, and the cottage pie was very good. We ate early and did not book, so would suspect that for later sittings booking would be essential. Looked... Recommend booking a table :-) we were lucky to get a seat in the bar while the restaurant sections were fully booked on a Saturday. The selection of drink is very good and the food marvellous. Definitely above your usual pub and food, with nice interior and an imaginative twist to the food offering. Would go again.

Managed to get a table here for four on a wet Saturday lunchtime after checking Winchester restaurants on Tripadvisor first. It was almost totally full and I can understand why. There was a really friendly and warm atmosphere and the food was rather good. My three guests were happy with their meals and I was certainly happy with the mussels,... More

Thank you! That's great to hear you enjoyed your visit in the main. The desserts change every few days, and it sounds like you were unlucky to miss out on the lovely chocolate orange panna cotta we have just had on the menu - a truly scrumptious gluten-free pudding. As a coeliac it must be frustrating to come up against... More
