Good food and nice restaurant

Food was great and loved the atmosphere. The staff were very attentive. Had the Madras and Dal makhani and Prawn biryani. All good. the food isn't spicy by default (except the Madras), so if you like it spicy ask for it. Portions were just right. Overall great food - will definitely return.

We booked on a recommendation by a family friend who lives in Winchester, this was a great restaurant, the food and service were excellent. we really enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive but not intrusive at all, good food, good beer :-) and good company. We would go back.

We have been to many Indian restaurants & this is by far the best we have tried in the UK. Modern decor, comfortable seating & helpful attentive service all make this an outstandingly good restaurant. The menu has most of the usual Brit-Indian specialities but also several original dishes using local Hampshire meat & game with gentle Indian spices. Wonderful... More

I have never had Indian food as good as this. The flavours were incredible. The staff extremely helpful and coped well with a table of 5 noisy ladies! I will be back!

Went to Ghandhis last week with some friends following a recommendation, we were not disappointed, the table we had was for 6 and was large enough without being squeezed together, the service was very attentive, we were asked for drinks by at least 4 different waiters only downside was it seemed to take ages to get them. The menu is... More

Attentive service and very good food, including interesting specials such as Hampshire rack of lamb. Could do with a wider selection of Indian beer.

We dined at the Gandhi last night, the starters were exceptionally nice, and the quality of the food for main course was nice. The waiters and waitress were very attentive. A nice place for dinner.

We are regulars at gandhi for eat in and takeaway. Why do we keep going back? The food is very good. The menu contains some gems (garlic chilli chicken, fish curry are favourites of mine). If you are lucky and Ronnie is there you would do well to go with what he suggests, and he will often go 'off menu'... More

9.30 on a Tuesday, not normally spoilt for choice, now its not a problem. My first visit to the Gandhi was last year on personal recommendation (I can still remember the french trimmed Hampshire rack of Lamb), so I returned, the extension work long since complete, doubling the floor space and now creating a much enlarged reception and bar area.... Visited on Sunday evening of the Bank Holiday weekend. The Good: We didn't have a reservation but were seated pretty quickly by friendly staff. Even though the restaurant was busy, we didn't feel rushed and the staff were happy to let us linger over tea after the meal. The Bad: Ordered a chicken dish from the kitchen special, biryani and...
