Nice restaurant in a lively location, but nevertheless a good menu with fish specials daily. Friendly staff, good service. Great desserts - we shared the selection of mini desserts.

The Olive Tree has always been a favourite of ours in Oxford Street Southampton. Oxford Street itself is a great place to go for a drink or a meal during the day or evening, lots of restaurants both traditional and trendy, with everything from Mexican, to Indian, Tapas, Italian, and British Traditional, and The Olive Tree is just a little... I rang and booked a table about 3 weeks before for 5 people, first impressions of the restaurant were not good as they had no record of our reservation and hurried to move tables/add place settings for a table of 5. They were understaffed therefore I felt the service was rushed. Food was good, expensive as you have to order... More

Took my elderly parent for a celebratory meal. On arriving,on time, we had to wait in a very cramped doorway until they cleared and reset the table. The whole restaurant is overcrowded and extremely noisy, which doesn't bode well for conversation. Food was very tasty but slow to arrive so therefore not as hot as I would like. Don't think... More

Firstly, the good was actually quite nice. Above average for a classy type of restaurant and the variety was broad. There were about 4 to 5 waiting staff on at the time I ate here with friends from work. The 2 women that waited on our table were incredibly rude! They managed to make me and a few from our... More

The food was great; we had the fish specials from the blackboard for both starters and mains. The sharing dessert platter was just right! The wine list isn't extensive but we managed to select a nice Rioja. We were disappointed in the speed of taking our order - we had to request this twice and waited over half an hour... More

We had dinner here on a lovely table by the terrace. Coming from France, we ordered a Kir Royale. The definition of a kir Royale is cassis and champagne. At this restaurant they use proscecco in place of champagne. This is really not ok and must surely be against the Trades Description Act. The barman almost put far too much... More
