Visited with my partner and my parents. The selection of wines and drinks are very good and the coffee is lovely. We started with seafood plater and meat plater, very big portions and everything was excellently cooked. Me and my partner had lamb rump on a bed of spinach and crushed new potatoes with a red wine jue, it was... More

Clearly Kate Moss hasn't been to the Olive Tree. The lamb shank cooked to absolute perfection and literally (dictionary definition rather than 21st century hyperbole) falling off the bone into an exquisite creamy mash potatoe with a perfect meat stock sauce would give her second thoughts on this statement. Fantastic local fish specials with everything really high quality. A real... More

My boyfriend and I spent the night in Southampton, we were wondering where to eat and came across The Olive Tree, it looked really vibrant and had a lovely brasserie feel so we decided to give it a go. The menu was excellent with a fantastic choice of meat and fish, but what I was blown away by was the... More

Dined here recently for a family celebration, drawn to this restaurant by the menu and general reviews. Although the food was good the service was seriously poor. Surly, disinterested and at times a little arrogant. We waited half an hour or more to order dessert and gave up. And for that, they automatically add 12.5% to the bill - "optional... More

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Southampton. The food is beautiful. It's not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. there is a small a la carte menu and a good range of daily fish specials. The location is fab and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. It's quite small compared to some of the others on... More

Saturday night. Busy (but not full). Food took an hour to come. Then they realised they had foregotten some fries which took an extra 10 minutes. Water and apple juice arrived lukewarm and we had to ask for ice three times. Manageress who took our order seemed to struggle with the idea that we wanted to know if a dish... More

The food we ordered was from the specials board and my fish dish was absolutely delicious. The only negative was that it was very noisy. This may have been due to the fact that it was 'graduation season' but it made any real conversation a challenge.

We were staying in Southampton overnight so wandered down to oxford street to find somewhere to eat and thought olive tree looked worth a try. The staff were pleasant, service was quick and efficient. Choice of food and quality excellent; some really nice dishes to choose from the menu and blackboard.

I had the pleasure to go to Olive three 5 times... The enviroment and food is really nice but unfortunately I cannot say the same about the service. They are not kind and keen on making the costumer happy. That is really a pity because this restaurant provide really good food ( I loved the hake with risotto) with good... More
