Gusto Lounge Bar & Bistro is at the heart of Southampton's cultural centre and the gateway to the City.

If you are a visitor to the city using the busy central station, the ever popular Mayflower theatre which is home to most of the biggest west end musicals and plays or the newly opened sea city and titanic museum you will find us ideally placed.

Our lounge bar is located on the ground floor. This is a casual dining environment. The ‘All Day Menu’ is served here on a walk in only basis; so casually walk in, sit down and then order at the bar.

Our Bistro is located on our first floor; here you can enjoy a more formal dining experience. Between 5 – 7 pm, the kitchen prioritises the Bistro due to the proximity of The Mayflower, so particularly if you’re a theatre visitor, this is the place to dine.

This used to be my go to restaurant for pre-theatre suppers with my theatre group; good food, reasonable prices for 2 or 3 set menu courses. Then they started messing with the formula - pizzas were taken off the restaurant menu and only available in the walk-in downstairs area. We weathered that... read more

Unsure if we'd have time to eat before the the ballet started at the Mayflower, we were met by Zak at Tue door, who assured us everything would be fine, and recommended items on the menu that could be prepared quickly. Delicious fresh food, warm atmosphere, great service. The beginning of a lovely evening.

I have been visiting Buon Gusto for many years and it was a lovely Italian restaurant. It has re-branded as Gusto Lounge and really gone downmarket. There is no Italian atmosphere, looks more like a cafe, and seems to be aiming at the student market, perhaps due to the new student housing opposite. Four of us had a pre-theatre dinner... More

We visited Gusto Lounge for dinner ahead of a performance at the Mayflower and were more than pleased with our experience. The food was tasty and well-priced and the staff very helpful, resolving a not-mentioned-on-the-menu slathering of balsamic vinegar quickly and without quibble. The pizzas are tasty and clearly made in-house with a good range and amount of toppings and... More

Great pizza. So hard to find restaurants in Soton that serve pizzas made from a Stone pizza oven, so this makes this place worth going full stop. A hidden gem Infact Had the chance to try a cocktail which was great too! Lovely bar staff and the owner seemed so nice. Very relaxed atmosphere and great for food pre and... More
