Up a side street, small & cramped but a great place to eat. I have eaten here many times over many years & never had a poor meal yet. They offer a good selection of Italian dishes freshly prepared, always well presented & at a price that will not burn a hole in your pocket. I think it is wonderful... More

Booked table for 4. Table laid and ready. Garlic bread awful, not cooked through, crisp top and bottom soggy, doughy middle. 2 Pizzas were same. Think oven/cooker too hot middle not cooked. Calzone and chicken caccatoria acceptable. 2 bottles house wine. £75.

Southampton is blessed with a number of really good Italian restaurants and this is up there with the best.Tucked away round the corner from another one, La Tavernetta, and opposite the Civic Centre, it was still very busy at 6pm and I'm glad we booked! Cosy, intimate, good honest Italian food and excellent, attentive service. Prices good too - between... More

My old work colleagues and I went for dinner here and we all very much enjoyed it! We did not book, there were 9 of us, and the waitress kindly pushed some tables together to fit us in! It is very small but very cosy - really get that homely atmosphere! We did not have starters, went straight for the... More

Me and my husband came here after reading others reviews. We booked in advance, which I recommend because allot of people who were turning up when we were seated in the restaurant, were being asked to come back at later. The male waiter was very hard working, he was running around serving the whole restaurant whilst another hard working lady... More

I have been using this un-assuming little cafe/restaurant, tucked away on a service road to a shopping mall, since the late 1970's. It changed hands a few years ago but it has kept to the excellent premise of serving good, honest Italian food at sensible prices. The Pizzas are great, the specials worth exploring and the Minestrone soup is always... More

I booked this place after reading the great reviews on here but left feeling very disappointed. Two friends were left waiting ages for their starter. I had the bruschetta which was ok but extremely doughy. For mains a few of us had the calzoni....big mistake, I cut into it and water spewed out so obviously frozen and not fresh and... More

Took the family to Piccolo Mondo to celebrate my sons 21st. The restaurant is tiny and as other reviewers have said, 'not much to look at '. However, I would say it's an authentic Italian eaterie and, sitting there, you could be in any Italian city. You must book! Tables were full all night and several parties turned away. Service...
