Staying in the Ibis and found Piccolo Mondo on trip advisor. Booked and wandered up to a very friendly reception and great food. Had the fresh cod on the specials and house potatoes. Good choice of starters and puds s well. I'll happily go back. You may want to book; only about 30 covers.

Not the biggest restaurant but the food and service make up for this by being authentic Italian. Plenty of atmosphere and welcoming staff.

This was our first (but not last) visit to this restaurant to celebrate my partners sons birthday. We didn't realise it was such a small restaurant and were so glad we had booked a table. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They took our drinks order quickly and we ordered our food. We had the best garlic bread and... More

Nice atmoshere, cosy size, friendly staff, huge choice of starters and mains on the menu and specials board. Puds looked good but we were full up. Loverly, strong Italian coffee. Our starters and mains were excellent, cooked to order. Food served on other tables looked good also. Service was quick. All prices were very fair and reasonable. Very convenient for... More

Hidden down a small side-road, obscured from view lies this bastian of true Ialian food. All three time I have been blessed by a familial warmth from the place. The house wine works well with the dishes and I like the carafe's in 1/2 litres. Their Italian fayre across the menu is all you could want if you are into... More

Lovely place with great service and a true Italian feel. It is a bit of a hidden place but I loved my pasta and when we next have a trip to Southampton we will be back for a quick bite to eat.

Wow! Went on a Saturday night, was very busy but that did not show in the level of service or the quality of food we had. I had the most amazing steak we all had something different and all thoroughly enjoyed it ... Staff are very friendly and helpful😍 we will be coming again!

We got several recommendations for this place but were totally disappointed, unfortunately. We were in two, the service was good, very friendly, but the food was terrible. The pizza seemed like a frozen one that just got heated up and had no taste. The spaghetti con gamberi were overcooked, and had little to no taste. The nice and authentic the... More

A no nonsense, no frills superb restaurant. Travelled extensively over the years and can honestly say the quality of the food in here is second to none. Ok its small and not the most modern however as stated authentic food as good as this is hard to find, simply superb quality, the best Italian in Southampton by a mile.
